Catherine Shock is the creative force behind The Highland Gardener, a luxury floral design atelier celebrated for its sophisticated, garden-inspired aesthetic and poetic sensibility. With an intuitive eye for composition and a reverence for the emotive power of flowers, Catherine brings over two decades of floral artistry shaped by diverse cultural influences and vibrant cityscapes. A Milwaukee native, Catherine began designing at the age of 15 alongside her Scottish-born mother, who ran a successful wedding and corporate floral studio. Immersed in her family’s rich Scottish heritage and a natural flair for European design, she was introduced early to the rigors of large-scale floral productions—assisting with more than 80 weddings annually and floral installations for prestigious clients such as Harley-Davidson, Miller Brewing Company, and luxury hotels and restaurants. These formative years instilled in her a foundation of creativity, discipline, and timeless elegance. After earning a degree in Economics with a Business minor from Florida State University, Catherine cultivated a parallel career in finance. Later, she formalized her floral education with a Certificate in Floral Design, mastering technical disciplines across wedding, sympathy, novelty, and seasonal design. Her design journey continued in Chicago, where she was deeply inspired by the city’s elevated floral aesthetics and refined visual language. Back in Milwaukee, she expanded her craft while designing for several high-end floral boutiques. In Tampa, she honed her skill for grandeur and detail, working with a luxury florist known for lavish, couture arrangements. These immersive experiences across metropolitan markets continue to shape her deeply layered, romantic, and intentional design style. Catherine has owned and operated floral businesses in both Wisconsin and Florida, serving a discerning clientele that includes Florida State University, Hotel Duval, the Governor’s Club, the Mayor’s residence, and private clients across Tallahassee, Santa Rosa Beach, and Thomasville, Georgia. With The Highland Gardener, Catherine has come full circle—merging her entrepreneurial spirit and creative lineage into a refined floral atelier rooted in European traditions, story-driven design, and rare botanical specimens. Each arrangement is more than a centerpiece—it is a sensorial experience: lush, layered, and emotionally resonant. Substitution Policy
In some instances, our photo may represent an overall theme or look and include a one-of-a-kind vase which cannot be exactly replicated. Although the actual floral arrangement, bouquet, and/or product may not precisely match the photo, its temperament will. Occasionally, substitutions of flowers and/or containers happen due to weather, seasonality and market conditions which may affect availability. If this is the case with the gift you’ve selected, we will ensure that the style, theme and color scheme of your arrangement is preserved and will only substitute items of equal value or higher value. If any design elements are of major importance to your order, please include them in the florist instructions at checkout or contact us to ensure availability.

We accept returns within 3 days of delivery. Please contact us to arrange your return. Refunds are processed immediately. Please allow 5–10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement.

You will be billed 5 days before the delivery schedule you select (either weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly). This is to ensure your florist will have adequate time to prepare your order.
How do I make changes to my subscription plan?
You can call the florist any time before the scheduled delivery or pickup date to make changes to your subscription plan and orders.
Can I pause my subscription plan?
Yes, you can! contact us at (850) 825-1806, let us know the next best delivery date and we’ll pause your subscription.
How do I cancel my subscription plan?
We’d be happy to take care of that for you! Please contact us at (850) 825-1806 and we’ll cancel your subscription right away.

Hello Demi. We are sincerely sorry again for leaving the enclosure card behind at the shop but we were able to try our best and take the card back down to the Capitol to make it right. We take great pride in our attention to details to include handwritten cards from our senders to the recipient. We also apologize for the florals not meeting your expectations. We do our best to make it look as close to the photo as possible. There are times we are at the mercy of Mother Nature combined with flowers shipping from other countries and the challenges with shipping and inclement weather in other states…no matter how much we order from our wholesalers in advance. Every gift ordered through BloomNation is personally hand-delivered by the local florist.
Each local florist sets their own delivery area and fee.
Most florists offer same-day hand delivery, but may have different order received
cut-off times for same-day delivery that are based off of the recipient’s time zone.
Florists that offer same-day delivery display their same-day delivery cut-off time in
their store detail section. Orders received after that time may be delivered the
following day. Please note some florists may not make deliveries on Sunday.
To request a specific delivery time, please type it into the Special Instructions field
during checkout. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences.
Before major holidays, we recommend that you place your orders at least five days in
advance.
