Catherine Shock is the creative force behind The Highland Gardener, a luxury floral design atelier celebrated for its sophisticated, garden-inspired aesthetic and poetic sensibility. With an intuitive eye for composition and a reverence for the emotive power of flowers, Catherine brings over two decades of floral artistry shaped by diverse cultural influences and vibrant cityscapes.
A Milwaukee native, Catherine began designing at the age of 15 alongside her Scottish-born mother, who ran a successful wedding and corporate floral studio. Immersed in her family’s rich Scottish heritage and a natural flair for European design, she was introduced early to the rigors of large-scale floral productions—assisting with more than 80 weddings annually and floral installations for prestigious clients such as Harley-Davidson, Miller Brewing Company, and luxury hotels and restaurants. These formative years instilled in her a foundation of creativity, discipline, and timeless elegance.
After earning a degree in Economics with a Business minor from Florida State University, Catherine cultivated a parallel career in finance. Later, she formalized her floral education with a Certificate in Floral Design, mastering technical disciplines across wedding, sympathy, novelty, and seasonal design.
Her design journey continued in Chicago, where she was deeply inspired by the city’s elevated floral aesthetics and refined visual language. Back in Milwaukee, she expanded her craft while designing for several high-end floral boutiques. In Tampa, she honed her skill for grandeur and detail, working with a luxury florist known for lavish, couture arrangements. These immersive experiences across metropolitan markets continue to shape her deeply layered, romantic, and intentional design style.
Catherine has owned and operated floral businesses in both Wisconsin and Florida, serving a discerning clientele that includes Florida State University, Hotel Duval, the Governor’s Club, the Mayor’s residence, and private clients across Tallahassee, Santa Rosa Beach, and Thomasville, Georgia.
With The Highland Gardener, Catherine has come full circle—merging her entrepreneurial spirit and creative lineage into a refined floral atelier rooted in European traditions, story-driven design, and rare botanical specimens. Substitution Policy
In some instances, our photo may represent an overall theme or look and include a one-of-a-kind vase which cannot be exactly replicated. Although the actual floral arrangement, bouquet, and/or product may not precisely match the photo, its temperament will. Occasionally, substitutions of flowers and/or containers happen due to weather, seasonality and market conditions which may affect availability. If this is the case with the gift you’ve selected, we will ensure that the style, theme and color scheme of your arrangement is preserved and will only substitute items of equal value or higher value. If any design elements are of major importance to your order, please include them in the florist instructions at checkout or contact us to ensure availability.
Delivery Policy
At The Highland Gardener, every floral delivery is an opportunity to make a moment extraordinary. We take great care in preparing and delivering each arrangement so it arrives beautifully and is received with the thoughtfulness intended.
Delivery Area & Fees
We offer floral delivery throughout Tallahassee and select surrounding areas. Delivery fees are based on the delivery destination and are displayed at checkout or confirmed when your order is placed.
Some locations outside our standard delivery area may require additional fees or advance arrangements. Please contact us before placing your order if you have questions about delivery to a specific address.
Delivery Dates & Timing
We make every effort to deliver orders on the requested date. While we accommodate delivery requests as closely as possible, specific delivery times cannot be guaranteed unless expressly confirmed by The Highland Gardener in advance.
Deliveries may occur throughout our scheduled delivery hours. During holidays, peak floral seasons, and periods of unusually high demand, delivery windows may be broader than usual.
For weddings, funerals, corporate events, and other time-sensitive occasions, please provide the event date, location, and required arrival time when placing your order so we can confirm availability and timing.
Same-Day Orders
Same-day delivery may be available depending on order volume, flower availability, staffing, and delivery schedules. Same-day orders are subject to confirmation by The Highland Gardener.
Because our designs are created with fresh, seasonal flowers, same-day selections may be limited to blooms and materials available at the time of ordering. For the best selection and the closest match to your desired colors and design, we recommend placing orders at least 24–48 hours in advance. Custom arrangements and special flower requests may require additional notice.
If we cannot reasonably fulfill a same-day order as requested, we will make reasonable efforts to contact you to discuss available options before proceeding.
Recipient Availability & Delivery Instructions
A recipient does not need to be present for delivery. Please provide a complete and accurate delivery address, recipient name, and telephone number. Apartment numbers, business names, suite numbers, access codes, and other relevant instructions should be included at checkout.
When appropriate, our delivery team may leave flowers in a safe, suitable location at the delivery address. This decision is based on the conditions at the time of delivery, including weather, accessibility, and the security of the location.
For locations where leaving flowers unattended is not appropriate or practical, we will make reasonable efforts to contact the recipient or purchaser to coordinate delivery.
The Highland Gardener does not charge redelivery fees. If an initial delivery cannot be completed, we will work with the customer to coordinate an appropriate alternative delivery arrangement.
For flowers being delivered to businesses, hospitals, funeral homes, schools, or other facilities, please provide any necessary department, room, or service information and confirm any applicable delivery restrictions.
Delivery Confirmation
We make reasonable efforts to ensure each order reaches its intended recipient. Delivery confirmation may be provided when available. Once flowers have been delivered to the designated address and left in an appropriate location or accepted by the recipient or another authorized person, the delivery is considered complete.
Weather & Circumstances Beyond Our Control
Flowers are perishable and sensitive to extreme temperatures. Severe weather, road conditions, facility restrictions, unexpected disruptions, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control may affect delivery timing.
If a significant delay or delivery issue arises, we will make reasonable efforts to communicate with the customer and determine an appropriate solution.
Floral Availability & Substitutions
Flowers are seasonal, and availability can change quickly, particularly for same-day orders and during major holidays. While we make every effort to create arrangements consistent with the selected design, occasional substitutions may be necessary.
When substitutions are required, we strive to preserve the arrangement’s overall style, color palette, quality, and value. If a significant change to the requested design is necessary, we will make reasonable efforts to contact the purchaser before proceeding.
Delivery Issues & Customer Support
Your satisfaction matters to us. Any concerns regarding delivery, the condition of the flowers upon arrival, or the arrangement received must be reported within 24 hours of delivery. The 24-hour reporting requirement applies to delivery-related concerns and remedies are assessed individually.

Refund Policy
We accept returns within 3 days of delivery. Please contact us to arrange your return. Refunds are processed immediately. Please allow 5–10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement.

Our subscriptions allow you to select a delivery frequency that best suits your needs - either weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.
How often will I be billed?
You will be billed 5 days before the delivery schedule you select (either weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly). This is to ensure your florist will have adequate time to prepare your order.
How do I make changes to my subscription plan?
You can call the florist any time before the scheduled delivery or pickup date to make changes to your subscription plan and orders.
Can I pause my subscription plan?
Yes, you can! contact us at (850) 825-1806, let us know the next best delivery date and we’ll pause your subscription.
How do I cancel my subscription plan?
We’d be happy to take care of that for you! Please contact us at (850) 825-1806 and we’ll cancel your subscription right away.

The arrangement did arrive on time for the service, and once it was in the hands of the funeral home staff its placement was out of our control. You selected the Deluxe rather than the Premium option, and the large glassware (which makes up a significant portion of the cost) plus our use of premium florals are factors in the final look; we know prices have risen and we do our best to provide extra care. Please contact us and we'll gladly discuss an adjustment or refund to make this right.

Hello Demi. We are sincerely sorry again for leaving the enclosure card behind at the shop but we were able to try our best and take the card back down to the Capitol to make it right. We take great pride in our attention to details to include handwritten cards from our senders to the recipient. We also apologize for the florals not meeting your expectations. There are times we are at the mercy of Mother Nature combined with flowers shipping from other countries and the challenges with shipping and inclement weather in other states…no matter how much we order from our wholesalers in advance. Every gift ordered through BloomNation is personally hand-delivered by the local florist.
Each local florist sets their own delivery area and fee.
Most florists offer same-day hand delivery, but may have different order received
cut-off times for same-day delivery that are based off of the recipient’s time zone.
Florists that offer same-day delivery display their same-day delivery cut-off time in
their store detail section. Orders received after that time may be delivered the
following day. Please note some florists may not make deliveries on Sunday.
To request a specific delivery time, please type it into the Special Instructions field
during checkout. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences.
Before major holidays, we recommend that you place your orders at least five days in
advance.
