Tara Carlson has been the owner of Sweet Pea’s Floral since 2006 with one lead Designer, Lindsey Busch. Not only did Tara and Lindsey both graduate from the Professional Floral Program at Hennepin Technical College, but both are also Certified Floral Designers (CFD) through the American Institute of Floral Design (AIFD). The Misson of AIFD® is to advance the art of professional floral design through education, service and leadership, and to recognize the achievement of excellence in this art form. Accredited membership in AIFD® is extremely selective and can be obtained only after a candidate has effectively demonstrated advanced professional ability of her or her floral artistry. Members proudly wear the ‘AIFD®’ addendum on their name to demonstrate that their peers have found them to be ‘Accredited in Floral Design’. They must continue to demonstrate their ‘cutting edge’ art by meeting specified continuing education requirements. Both Tara and Lindsey participate in judging and speaking at local floral design shows within the Twin Cities. Along with taking courses to expand their knowledge with current trends and techniques within the floral industry. Sweet Pea's Floral has won 'Best Florist' in the Best of Woodbury consumer voting in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 Tara and Lindsey have been active members of the International Live Events Association (ILEA) and have been nominated for four ILEA Star Awards for 'Best use of Floral' in the past years and have taken home two awards in 2016, and 2017. In 2016,2017,2018,2019, 2021 and 2022 they traveled to Pasadena, California to help build the City of South Pasadena’s float for the Rose Bowl Parade held on January 1st of the following year. They have made this an annual tradition and plan to go again in 2023. Sweet Pea’s does custom design on a daily basis for any occasion, and we specialize in corporate events and weddings.
In some instances, the florists’ photo may represent an overall theme or look and include a one-of-a-kind vase which cannot be exactly replicated. Although the actual bouquet may not precisely match the photo, its temperament will. Occasionally, substitutions of flowers or containers happen due to weather, seasonality and market conditions which may affect availability. If this is the case with the gift you've selected, the local florist will ensure that the style, theme and color scheme of your arrangement is preserved and will only substitute items of equal or higher value.
Every gift ordered through BloomNation is personally hand-delivered by the local florist. Each local florist sets their own delivery area and fee.
Most florists offer same-day hand delivery, but may have different order received cut-off times for same-day delivery that are based off of the recipient’s time zone. Florists that offer same day delivery display their same-day delivery cut-off time in their store detail section. Orders received after that time may be delivered the following day. Please note some florists may not make deliveries on Sunday.
To request a specific delivery time, please type it into the Special Instructions field during checkout. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences. Before major holidays, we recommend that you place your orders at least five days in advance.
