ABOUT THE OWNER
Juli Tkalec
Juli graduated with a degree in photography from Columbia College. She began learning flower design at a very young age, incapable of sitting still, she graciously accepted the task of learning how to make a satin ribbon bow, it took her weeks, but she did it. After that accomplishment her mother, Dragica began to teach Juli about flowers. In addition to flower design, Juli has done all of the photography and web design for the business.

Our first experience with A Pretty Flower was for our son’s wedding. Juli and her mother and brother met with us a few times to ensure the desired effect was met and we all loved the results. The flowers on the towers helped soften all of the concrete at the MCA and the table top flowers were gorgeous. We reused the arrangements the next morning for the after wedding brunch and then guests took the flowers home. Ours lasted for nearly 2 weeks! The married couple just had their first baby and of course I returned to A Pretty Flower for this occasion. Never disappointed in the quality of flowers and personal attention!

It was a lovely arrangement, however, it looked a bit odd with a big old white hydrangea smack in the middle of a bunch of bright colored flowers. Next time I’d specify, either all brights or all lights/whites, not mixed. Otherwise, from the picture the recipient sent, it looked very fresh & healthy. Well done! I have bought flowers from here numerous times and am always beyond impressed with the quality of the flowers and arrangements as well as the customer service. Unlike most flower places, a bouquet from A Pretty Flower will last a week and look vibrant. This past Mother’s Day I made the mistake of placing an order the morning of the day before— I should’ve ordered a week or a few days in advance. The next available date for pick up was the day after Mothers Day but I submitted the order anyway and included a note asking if it would be possible to pick up on Mothers Day. I had resigned myself to bringing my mom the flowers the day after and not having them for her at our dinner. Well, A Pretty Flower texted me on Mother's Day and said they got my note and they’d have the bouquet ready that afternoon. Eureka! This kind of quality of service and product is rare to find these days. My mom received multiple comments on the beauty of the bouquet at the restaurant where we had dinner including the owner who said “THOSE are beautiful flowers.” Then he looked at me and said “You did very well.” Thank you A Pretty Flower. This was my first time using A Pretty Flower and I am very pleased. I live in Ohio and sent a bouquet to my daughter-in-law in Chicago. I picked them at random from google maps and am so glad I did. Wasn't any communication when it would arrive and since it came in the afternoon my girlfriend was disappointed most of V-Day thinking I didn't get her flowers. When they arrived, they looked nothing like the image. The arrangement is mostly unbudded white flowers with only a handful of the pink unbudded flowers. Someone also decided to put a large advertising sticker for the flowershop over the vase that can't be easily removed. No plans to buy again in the future.

If the orchids were not in good shape I’d have been happy to make a new arrangement of your choice had you contacted us directly. Roses, hydrangeas, tulips- what a combo to bring color and fragrance to my home! Our arrangement arrived as planned and was beautiful and bountiful.
