I'm Michael Riccardi, the owner of Michael's Greenhouse and Florist here in Sauquoit. I grew up in East Utica and then moved to Whitesboro in 1977. I graduated from Whitesboro High School in 1982. I then attended Johnson and Wales College for Baking and Pastry Arts and graduated in 1984. From there, I worked in a couple of bakeries and then I purchased an older Polish Bakery in Rome, NY (The White Eagle Bakery) and renamed it "Michael's Bake Shoppe." My Mom and Dad played a vital role there, always working and helping out wherever needed. I eventually sold the bakery after 6 1/2 years but still to this day, love to bake! So on to the next chapter...In 1992, I started driving School Bus for Whitesboro Central School and did so for 28 years. In 2012, I purchased "The Strawberry Geranium" in Sauquoit. That's how "Michael's Greenhouse and Florist" started. I am also the Organist at St. Anthony and St. Agnes Church in Utica and have been playing there for 25 years. I also have been driving School Bus for Sauquoit Valley Central School since 2021. My favorite part of my job is working in the Greenhouses and also baking for the shop. I love starting seeds in early February and nurturing them into beautiful flowers. People seem to think that I do the designing in the Flower Shop, which I do not. I have a very creative staff, Heidi and Katrina who are led by Tracy (The Floral Manager) and they do a phenomenal job. So, whatever your floral needs are, we are here for you!

Substitution Policy
In some instances, our photo may represent an overall theme or look and include a one-of-a-kind vase which cannot be exactly replicated.
Although the actual bouquet may not precisely match the photo, its temperament will. Occasionally, substitutions of flowers and/or containers happen due to weather, seasonality and market conditions which may affect availability. If this is the case with the gift you’ve selected, we will ensure that the style, theme and color scheme of your arrangement is preserved and will only substitute items of equal value or higher value.
If any design elements are of major importance to your order, please include them in the florist instructions at checkout or contact us to ensure availability.

Refunds are processed immediately. Please allow 5–10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement.

You will be billed 5 days before the delivery schedule you select (either weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly). This is to ensure your florist will have adequate time to prepare your order.
How do I make changes to my subscription plan?
You can call the florist any time before the scheduled delivery or pickup date to make changes to your subscription plan and orders.
Can I pause my subscription plan?
Yes, you can! contact us at (315) 737-8181, let us know the next best delivery date and we’ll pause your subscription.
How do I cancel my subscription plan?

Every gift ordered through BloomNation is personally hand-delivered by the local florist.
Each local florist sets their own delivery area and fee.
Most florists offer same-day hand delivery, but may have different order received
cut-off times for same-day delivery that are based off of the recipient’s time zone.
Florists that offer same-day delivery display their same-day delivery cut-off time in
their store detail section. Orders received after that time may be delivered the
following day. Please note some florists may not make deliveries on Sunday.
To request a specific delivery time, please type it into the Special Instructions field
during checkout. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences.
