I received a reply quickly and easily placed the order securely through the website. The following day the arrangement was delivered on time. The arrangement chosen was the designers choice and what arrived was beyond what I hoped for. A master class of design and variety that was simultaneously expressive of beauty and gratitude while retaining a restraint so each element could be admired individually and as part of the overall design. Ilex is the genus of holly, Ilex is also a modern florist specializing in events, weddings, interior and exterior plantings for homes and offices. Located in South Boston and founded in 2004 Ilex started with the goal of bringing a modern edge to floral design in Boston. Winning many awards and accolades and thousands of events later Ilex has found it’s way from a retail store in Boston’s South End to a Studio in South Boston. The ilex philosophy is to design something unique and personal for each of our clients. We specialize in events both small and large, from weddings to Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, and pretty much anything you can dream up.
In some instances, the florists’ photo may represent an overall theme or look and include a one-of-a-kind vase which cannot be exactly replicated. Although the actual bouquet may not precisely match the photo, its temperament will. Occasionally, substitutions of flowers or containers happen due to weather, seasonality and market conditions which may affect availability. If this is the case with the gift you've selected, the local florist will ensure that the style, theme and color scheme of your arrangement is preserved and will only substitute items of equal or higher value.
Every gift ordered through BloomNation is personally hand-delivered by the local florist. Each local florist sets their own delivery area and fee.
Most florists offer same-day hand delivery, but may have different order received cut-off times for same-day delivery that are based off of the recipient’s time zone. Florists that offer same day delivery display their same-day delivery cut-off time in their store detail section. Orders received after that time may be delivered the following day. Please note some florists may not make deliveries on Sunday.
To request a specific delivery time, please type it into the Special Instructions field during checkout. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences. Before major holidays, we recommend that you place your orders at least five days in advance.
