About Us
In 1889, the city of Aurora, Missouri issued its first ever business license to Otto Werdien and his wife to start the Aurora Greenhouses. Each day Otto would load fresh produce and flower arrangements made by his wife to his wagon to sell. The greenhouses remained in the family till 2005. Since then, the Werdien’s tradition of focusing on customer relationships and quality product continues. Greenhouse 1889, continues to be a place where tradition and beauty meet.
Welcome to Greenhouse 1889, where faith, family, and flowers come together. I’m Sally Spurlock, and I’ve loved flowers for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I have found much joy in creating arrangements for our church- celebrating every season and special events with flowers. Now, I’m blessed to share that same love with our four daughters- Katey, Jewel, Dolly, and Jo Claire Growing up on the family farm, they’ve learned the value of hard work, creativity, and the simple joy of seeing something beautiful grow. Together we make up the heart and hands of Greenhouse 1889. Faith, family, and flowers- naturally arranged at Greenhouse 1889. Thank you for letting our family be a part of your special moments.

In some instances, our photo may represent an overall theme or look and include a one-of-a-kind vase which cannot be exactly replicated.

Every gift ordered through BloomNation is personally hand-delivered by the local florist.
Each local florist sets their own delivery area and fee.
Most florists offer same-day hand delivery, but may have different order received
cut-off times for same-day delivery that are based off of the recipient’s time zone.
Florists that offer same-day delivery display their same-day delivery cut-off time in
their store detail section. Orders received after that time may be delivered the
