ABOUT THE STORE
Webwood Flowers & Gifts

About Webwood Heritage Rooted in Houston Since 1948. Designed for What Comes Next. Founded in Houston in 1948 by entrepreneur Ellen Catherine Wilson English, Webwood Flowers & Gifts began with the determination of a woman building a business of her own in postwar Houston. Ellen would go on to have an extraordinary entrepreneurial career, but the floral house she created would become a legacy all its own—one that has endured for nearly eight decades. Ellen later entrusted Webwood to her brother, Joseph "Joe" Wilson Jr., an artist and designer whose creative vision would profoundly shape the identity of the company. Joe found his calling in floral design and brought to Webwood an artistic point of view that was distinctive, imaginative and unmistakably his own. His philosophy of "unusual as usual" came to embody an approach to design that helped establish Webwood as one of Houston's respected floral houses. Under Joe's leadership, Webwood became known for far more than beautiful flowers. Its designers created weddings, private celebrations, prominent River Oaks parties, corporate installations and special events throughout Houston. Over time, Webwood became part of the traditions of families who returned to the company for life's most meaningful occasions. Joe's son, Steve Wilson, would carry that legacy forward, preserving the creativity, personal service and relationships that had become synonymous with the Webwood name. Working alongside Joe and Steve for many years was Patti Wilson, Steve's wife, whose dedication, relationships and contributions were an integral part of Webwood's success. Together, Joe, Steve and Patti helped cultivate the trust and respect the Webwood name came to hold among generations of Houston clients. A Creative Legacy That Continues! The Webwood story has always been about people as much as flowers—and that creative lineage remains part of the company today. Longtime lead designer Diana Peterson, affectionately known as "The Eccentric Stick," has spent more than two decades with Webwood and was mentored by both Joe and Steve Wilson. Her remarkable floral career also includes experience with Houston's Village Greenery and 27 years with Kroger's corporate special team's floral department. At Webwood, Diana has led wedding and specialty-event design teams for some of Houston's most prominent families. Through Diana and Webwood's experienced design team, decades of artistry and institutional knowledge continue into the company's next chapter. That continuity matters. The techniques, standards and creative instincts passed from one designer to another cannot simply be recreated. Neither can the relationships built with families over decades. They are part of what makes Webwood, Webwood. A New Chapter: Webwood Heritage On August 4, 2025, Webwood entered a new era when Houston Entrepreneurs Monica Richards and Jason Osberg acquired the Webwood Flowers assets and its longstanding and acclaimed client relationships, with the honor of transitioning alongside the original Webwood design team. With this new chapter comes a new name: Webwood Heritage. The name is intentional. Webwood: honors the floral house established in Houston in 1948 and the remarkable people, designers, clients and families who built its reputation. Heritage: represents both what has been entrusted to us and our responsibility to carry it forward. The evolution to Webwood Heritage is not about leaving the past behind. Quite the opposite. It is about preserving the very best of Webwood while allowing an extraordinary Houston company to continue evolving—with renewed creativity, expanded possibilities and a vision for the generations still to come. Another Houston Family Story For Monica Richards, stewardship of Webwood carries particular meaning. The eldest daughter of Arnaldo and Janice Richards, the family behind a Houston institution, Picos, Monica grew up inside a family business and learned early what it takes to build a reputation over decades: hard work, creativity, hospitality, consistency and, above all, relationships. After becoming a leader and longtime presence within her family's hospitality business, Monica forged a creative path of her own by founding Houston floral company Mas Flora . Today, Monica owns and operates Webwood Heritage alongside Mas Flora, bringing together two floral stories while preserving the identity, artistry and character that make each distinctive. There is a meaningful symmetry in this new chapter. Webwood began in 1948 with Ellen English, a woman with the courage and entrepreneurial spirit to create business of her own. Her brother Joe Wilson took that beginning and through extraordinary creativity and artistic vision, helped transform it into a respected Houston floral house. Steve and Patti Wilson carried that legacy forward, while designers such as Diana Peterson helped turn that vision into decades of memorable work. Each played a different role. Each left something important behind. And each deserves a place in the Webwood story. As a woman entrepreneur, Monica is especially proud to follow Ellen, Patti and Diana—women whose determination, talent and contributions helped shape Webwood across different generations. At the same time, we proudly honor Joe and Steve Wilson, whose creativity, leadership and stewardship were instrumental in building the reputation we have now been entrusted to protect. That balance of entrepreneurship, artistry, family, mentorship and service is the true heritage behind our new name. Honoring What Was Built. Creating What Comes Next. A Webwood Heritage, our purpose is not to rewrite Webwood's history. It is to be worthy of it. We honor Ellen, who started it. We honor Joe, whose artistic vision helped define it. We honor Steve and Patti, who devoted years to carrying it forward and earning the confidence of Houston families. We honor Diana and the Webwood design team, whose hands created so much of the work behind that reputation and whose artistry continues today. And as Monica Richards and Jason Osberg begin the next chapter, they accept the responsibility of protecting those relationships and traditions while allowing Webwood to continue growing, creating and inspiring. Nearly eight decades after Webwood began in Houston, there are new owners, a new chapter and a new name. But the foundation remains. The designers remain. The relationships endure. The artistry evolves. The heritage continues. WEBWOOD HERITAGE Rooted in Houston Since 1948. Designed for What Comes Next.
