Sweet Peas Floral
Sweet Pea's Floral specializes in fresh-cut flowers and live plants, perfect for special occasions and life’s most meaningful celebrations. Our team creates custom floral designs daily, bringing beauty and elegance to every arrangement. We are proud to have been voted 'Best Florist' in the Best of Woodbury consumer awards every year from 2013 to 2024. Our expertise has also been recognized on an international level—Sweet Pea's Floral has been nominated for four International Live Events Association (ILEA) awards for 'Best Use of Floral' and won in 2016 and 2017. Beyond our shop, our passion for florals takes us across the country. In 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2024, our team traveled to Pasadena, California to help build the City of South Pasadena’s float for the Rose Parade. Tara Carlson, AIFD, CFD
My journey in the floral industry began at 15 when I took my first job in a flower shop. From the moment I stepped into that world, I knew I wanted to own a shop of my own someday. After graduating with honors from Hennepin Technical College in 2002, I continued gaining experience in both the industry and in life, leading me to purchase Sweet Pea's Floral in 2006. In 2017, I was honored to be invited to become an accredited member of the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) in Seattle, WA. A year later, I was officially inducted in Washington, D.C. AIFD® is a prestigious organization dedicated to advancing the art of professional floral design through education, service, and leadership. Accreditation is highly selective, requiring candidates to demonstrate exceptional artistic ability and a commitment to ongoing education. I am proud to carry the AIFD® designation, signifying excellence in floral artistry. Beyond running a small business, my greatest love is my family. My children, Tiegen (16) and Jacqueline (12), are my world—and yes, they’ve both mastered the art of making boxes and mopping floors at Sweet Pea’s! We call Woodbury home, where we live with our two lovable Golden Retrievers, Lucy and Griffin, and our sweet cat, Cyndi.

Unfortunately during delivery all of the water spilled from the vase into the enclosing bag and out of the box (tear in bottom of bag). It was a mess for both the driver carrying it up, and for me to get inside and salvage the remaining water. Would suggest improving the delivery details for drivers so it's not a mess for them or customers

The floral arrangement was perfect and was ready when I picked it up. The issue is that the container leaked and leaked all over the table. I have continued to refill it and have put it into a dish, but it continues to leak, which caused the flowers to wilt within 24 hours.

I ordered a $94.99 deluxe floral arrangement for my aunt’s funeral. I was very disappointed in the flowers received. The flowers past prime bloom and the arrangement looked sparse despite the fact that I paid for a “deluxe” arrangement. Maybe it looked sparse but was actually because stems were starting to droop.

I’d selected a bright peach-colored bouquet - but ended up with one that wasn’t nearly as bright as I’d hoped. It was a beautiful arrangement of fall colors - mostly yellows and browns. But for this occasion it was important my bouquet kept the bright, joyful look. When I called them, they immediately said bring it back and we’ll make you a new one that meets your expectations. The replacement was beautiful and perfect and were both apologetic for not meeting my expectations but grateful I let them know so they could correct it to meet my expectations. This was our first time ordering from you. The online ordering process went smoothly. My son said it was a very easy process when he went to pick up. He was very pleased with the flowers for his prom date. However, his date's wrist corsage completely fell apart between the dinner and the dance. The glue holding the flowers to the wrist "bracelet" completely came undone. Fortunately, they were able to pick up some super glue and reattached the flowers on the way to the dance. Considering she had only worn it for 2 hours before it fell apart, that is quite disappointing.

The arrangement was very nice, but three of the 10 tulips were drooped by morning. I picked them up later Friday afternoon and by Saturday morning noticed the flowers dropping. Overall the basket looked good, but not nearly as nice as the photo in the product selection. The posting notes that some plants may be different due to availability and season (and I get that), however, every single plant except for one (the palm fern, a very common plant) was different than the photo, as was the basket and the ground filling, and so what the giftee received really wasn't what we ordered. Unfortunately, the substitutes did not make as aesthetic of a composition and I very likely would not have ordered this basket at this price point if I had had available what the final product would look like. I believe that Sweet Peas Floral was not acting in bad faith, that this really is a supply chain issue, but if what they are going to produce is going to be THAT different then they need to update their photo.
I do give them extra points for their customer service; they were really quick to respond to a email about the note formatting and willing to address a very minute concern I have.

I also chose the Premium bouquet so that there would be alot more purple and blue flowers. The flowers that showed up had roses and the bouquet was not as big as expected. Although the image shows ONLY red roses, what was delivered was HALF RED CARNATIONS and half red roses. This is especially disappointing given that I paid an additional $20 for the "premium version". Tracking the status of delivery was impossible as the website still shows it as "in process" even though the flowers were delivered days ago. When calling the store, there was no answer on the day of delivery, so customer service was also disappointing.

So I have a suggestion instead of a review, I think the flowers should include a comment card for the recipient to leave a comment on the website as to how satisfied they were with the flowers. The sender does not see them and this way you should get rave reviews because the actual people that see them will enter the reviews. Just a suggestion.

We have historically used this Florist in the past as they do an excellent job. We are from Indiana yet have family in cottage Grove. We upgraded this arrangement to a deluxe and included a balloon as it was for our three-year-old granddaughter‘s birthday. When family sent a picture of the arrangement, there was no upgrade as per ordered and paid for. Single Gerber Daisy was yellow not pink as displayed. Called and spoke with someone today. Okay...the team of florists went above and beyond for this arrangement. First of all, it was beautiful. Not exactly as pictured....quite honestly. Better than pictured. PLUS. Afterwards they sent a text with the plants/flowers that they used so that it could verified as "cat safe". (Which was NOT part of my initial instructions...oops). But it wasn't a big deal for them to email with the names of items used. It really could not have been any better. I've used Sweet Pea a few times now. They continue to impress. I had ordered the Vera Wang Grand occasion bouquet for my brother and sister in law’s 25th wedding anniversary. Based on the picture, it was absolutely gorgeous and perfect for them. When my sister-in-law sent a picture to thank us I was rather shocked, nothing like the picture. I know at some point the lilies will open, but it is that initial presentation. Maybe mix some opened lilies with the closed ones. For a bouquet that cost $203 (included taxes, delivery fee and tip), I was pretty disappointed.

I ordered flowers to be delivered for my wife’s anniversary and the ordered was “missed” or “overlooked”. Quite disappointed obviously..... even more disappointing was the only offer to resolve the issue was a delivery the next day. I know mistakes happen but delivering the day after our anniversary doesn’t do much for me not to mention missing the moment and this was a big one of 20 years. I would expect this from a low end florist or a chain store but for what I was charged and paid for I expected better service and assurance that it would get done right. Like I said mistakes happen but how those mistakes are resolved should be the difference and in this case an apology and an offer to deliver next day isn’t sitting well. I have cancelled the order and requested a refund.

(I originally tried to send flowers through the FTD link with the obituary, thinking that they would be able to easily handle a late order—I was unable to even after calling their customer service dept). When delivering flowers please make sure you put the name of the sender with the card. The website asked who is sending and I assumed you would let the recipient know who sent them. Also the basket is different than the picture and there were fewer flowers and no carnations. Very pretty bouquet but feel a little cheated.

The flowers I ordered from SweetPea’s floral in Woodbury were nothing like the image online. The lilies were crumpled and although I specifically ordered this bouquet for the sunflowers, 2 gerber daisies were used in their place. It was an embarrassment to have these flowers shared in remembrance of my friend. A ~ $70 bouquet, looked as if it was bought from maybe CubFoods, but worse. I’m sorry to say that I can not recommend this flower shop. I’m very disappointed.

Sweet Peas is my go to whenever I need to send flowers to someone they deliver to. They are creative and send out high quality products. I have had more luck with them sending what is ordered without substitutions. Used them for our son's wedding and were extremely pleased with the results AND when our daughter cancelled a wedding, they were the only place that refunded our down payment. That impressed me immensely! The staff I have dealt with has been enthusiastic and professional in my encounters with them. I don't think you can go wrong with this shop.

I'd written several emails letting them know that their website needed work and never heard from them. I wrote an email to them about my expectations for the flowers and did so online as well because you couldn't tell whether there would be an opportunity at there "BUY NOW" button. The flowers that arrived looked very different from the one pictured and my notes didn't help. The arrangement was clumsy and contained other colors that didn't belong. I had ordered an upgrade to the arrangement. In contacting the shop, I found resistance and excuses and no attempt to make me, the customer satisfied with the process. This week of dealing with their website and them was a frustrating one. I won't be using them again.

I did not have a good experience with the purchase. I upgraded the dish garden from $59.00 to the highest choice of $79.00.I have two issues with my purchase. 1) The order was to be delivered in the afternoon (after 12:30) At 10:15 I got a call from the delivery person regarding the address . He mentioned it wasn't to be delivered till afternoon, but he was there so was going to leave it by door.2) The quality certainly wasn't something I would expect from a florist. I went to the florist expressing my disappointment. If I wanted to have the current arrangement embellished I needed to bring it in. I did go get the flowers from the person I sent them too. The florist and I did agree on replacing the dish garden for a different arrangement which I then needed to deliver myself. So after paying for the arrangement to be delivered I ended up making two trips to the florist and delivering them myself. This total experience cost me $98.00 to the florist and disappointment .
