Fall Floral Arrangement Trends 2025

Fall has always been fashion’s most dramatic season, and floristry is no exception. Rich shades, fresh color combinations, layered texture, and sculptural forms make this year’s fall arrangements a statement in themselves. To pinpoint what’s trending for 2025, we turned to Veronica Sanchez, florist, designer, and product expert at BloomNation, who shared the key themes shaping floral design this season.

Flowers That Elevate Texture and Form

This fall is about flowers that carry presence.

Gloriosa lilies: With their flame-like petals, add movement and an exotic flair.

Scabiosa: Bring a delicate, almost whimsical texture.

Allium varieties: Add futuristic structure.

Anthuriums and cymbidium orchids: Bold and sculptural

Calla lilies: Timeless in their sleek elegance.

Amaranthus: Both hanging and spider varieties add cascading texture and drama.

Eremurus (Foxtail Lily): Stunning in large-scale designs and installations.

Together, these choices allow designers to step away from traditional “safe” flowers and embrace arrangements that feel modern, textural, and memorable.

Rich and Luxurious Color Palettes

This fall is all about dramatic, layered colors. Deep burgundy and wine tones are balanced by apple greens and whites. Add in autumn oranges and terracotta, and you have a palette that feels luxurious and versatile for weddings, events, and seasonal designs.

Veronica notes that bold shades create a sense of drama when paired with lighter accents. She also highlights the surprising rise of orange as a year-round favorite. First trending during Mother’s Day, now holding strong into fall. Its popularity mirrors fashion, where orange dominated the spring and summer runways, spotlighted by Vogue and L’Officiel as one of the season’s defining colors.

Fruitscaping: Harvest-Inspired Design

One of the strongest design movements carrying into fall is fruitscaping, which is the integration of fruits and vegetables into arrangements. From figs and pomegranates to apples and grapes, these elements add texture, symbolism, and seasonal storytelling. In the Fall especially, fruits tie directly to themes of abundance and harvest, making them a natural choice for both everyday arrangements and large-scale event installations. Veronica explains:

Fruitscaping has become a popular trend at weddings and events, sometimes with more fruits than flowers.

Modern Shapes and Sensory Details

Arrangements this season are also leaning away from traditional round shapes in favor of asymmetry and more architectural structures. These designs feel fresh, contemporary, and full of movement.

To heighten the sensory experience, many florists are adding herbs like basil, rosemary, and mint. Not only adding fragrance, but storytelling elements, transforming arrangements into more than just flowers in a vase.

A Practical Business Trend: Vase Recycling

Veronica doesn’t just stop at design. She encourages florists to think about sustainability and smart business practices. With the cost of containers continuing to rise, she suggests starting a vase recycling program:

Encourage your customers to bring back their used vases or containers, and give them a small credit or discount toward their next arrangement. It reduces costs, encourages repeat visits, and makes a positive impact on the environment.

This simple idea not only saves money but also strengthens customer loyalty and aligns with the growing demand for eco-conscious practices.

A Season of Creativity and Connection

Fall arrangements in 2025 are all about balancing richness with innovation. By blending dramatic palettes, textural flowers, fruits, herbs, and modern structures, florists can offer clients designs that feel fresh, seasonal, and memorable. At the same time, smart strategies like vase recycling help florists strengthen both their artistry and their business.

As Veronica puts it,

These are the trends we’re seeing florists bring to life right now, and it’s a beautiful way to keep designs fresh and exciting for clients.
