Disappointed with the Flower Arrangement

I was really looking forward to surprising someone special with a beautiful flower arrangement, but unfortunately, what they received was very underwhelming compared to what was advertised. The photo online showed a full, vibrant, and elegant bouquet — but what actually arrived looked sparse, with fewer blooms.

I understand that substitutions may happen, but this felt more like a downgrade than a substitution.

For the price paid, I expected much better quality and accuracy. Sadly, I won’t be ordering from here again unless there’s a clear improvement in transparency and quality control.

My only complaint is that it wasn’t delivered until a little after 7pm. I really would have liked them to be delivered earlier in the day. Next time I’ll ask them to be delivered a day before really need them.

I ordered the Make a Wish arrangement because it was bright and cheery, what was received had alot of dark flowers with only two yellow stems, so it was not as expected. It was lovely none the less, they always do a great job. I know they will make substitutions as needed but next time I will note if I want certain colors used. One great plus was that I ordered it in the morning and it was delivered just a few hours later, great service.

Above and beyond. They are the only place i order flowers from. This last time there was a hiccup in the system from so many orders etc etc on valentines day . So I simply called and they were on it so fast it was insane. Not only did they make sure the driver got to my wifes business before closing, which was only 24 minutes left till closing. This was my second time using this florist. The flowers were beautiful as expected. However, the delivery did not meet a reasonable timeframe. I ordered days ahead, asking for a before 10am delivery. I have to say I was disappointed in what was received compared to what I ordered. I chose this arrangement because it was all pink and was for someone who just had breast cancer surgery. I ordered flowers that would be unique because everybody usually gets white. However, when we got to the church, the flowers were not there. There was two flowers, both white and that was it. I even noted that I wanted it there early since the funeral started at 11. When we got to the reception I thought I saw what might’ve been the flowers but whoever brought them in put them on the floor and somebody else came by and took them out. So I don’t even have any idea if our flowers were there or not. They should’ve been at the church to begin with and then they were placed on the floor possibly at the reception and then they disappeared. I can only hope that they were received by the person they were supposed to be.

The bouquet I chose, was called rush of color. I wanted tulips. Tulips only as what was in the photo. I wanted beautiful spring colors as was displayed in the photo. The bouquet received had the ugliest tulips I’ve ever seen. And the colors were dark maroon, dark yellow like golden. A ton of filler and a happy birthday sign I didn’t ask for. Extremely disappointed! It was nothing like the picture and definitely no rush of color. More like rush of death for a funeral. The picture had bright purple, bright pink, bright yellow and bright red. I just don’t understand why the underwhelming boring colors were what was chosen!

Usually your floral arrangements are spot on perfect but honestly this one did disappoint some. The picture shows hydrangeas not lilies which my Aunt received and we are generally not a fan especially if they smell. Also the picture shows a very flower thick arrangement where hers had a lot of greenery. It just didn’t have the WoW factor like previous bouquets.

The pumpkin was orange, the lid of the pumpkin was on top of the base instead of half way through the flowers and the arrangement was very tall, not as advertised on your website. The Flowers were beautiful and the delivery went flawless. I ordered the Be Happy Bouquet Deluxe with Roses and it was even more beautiful when delivered than it was on the website. My only tip for a new customer would be to not “sign” at the end of the message because there’s an area after the message box to sign who the flowers are from. We actually wrote Love, (our name) at the end of the message and at the end of the delivered note it had our name signed twice which made it look like a typo. I’ll know for next time….. My flowers still haven’t been delivered to my mom for MOTHERS DAY! So sad. She wasn’t home Sunday but she told them it’s okay if they’re still delivered. Now she gave them her work address and everything to be delivered. They said they’d do it this morning. Still haven’t arrived. She called again and they said they’ll still deliver them but why is this taking so long? It sucks. It was supposed to be for Mother’s Day and a surprise, now my mom is doing all this work just to get her flowers delivered. They probably don’t even look as nice now :(

I ordered a bouquet for Mother's Day on Tuesday, 5/9/23 for delivery to my mother on Friday, 5/12/23. When she hadn't received them by mid-day on Saturday, I called Zahn's and was assured they would be delivered that day. I'm writing this review on Monday, 5/15/23 and still no flowers. I placed a call at 10:45am to Zahn's. No one answered and their VM is not setup. I am very disappointed and will be requesting a refund of the $115.02 that I paid.

I would like to thank Leah part owner of Zahns Flower Shopp for doing her best to make a big mistake better. It was unfortunate that my Mother in Law got an arrangement that was not at all like the one I had ordered. Ordering from NYS I wanted to use a local florist instead of a big company. While the arrangement wasn't what I wanted, Leah made the effort to reach out to me and have a talk about how she would like to make this up to me. I put my mother's correct apartment (2205) number on the order. The delivery person left it in front of the door of apartment 205. My mother thought I forgot her birthday until I called her at 8 pm and asked about the flowers and she said she did not receive them. She had to search her entire building, floor by floor to find them. And they did not look anything like the sample photo of my chosen order. On 5/11, I sent an email to the florist requesting a full refund of the tip for the delivery person and have not received any response from the florist.

Not really pleased with the delivery. I specifically gave special instructions to have the delivery before 11 because she got off of work and 11:30.
It was supposed to be a surprise delivery and instead she got a phone call just as she was leaving and had to receive the delivery in the parking lot!!! Not only that but she was using a walker so had to get someone to carry them to her car instead of getting them in the office. I order from you all the time and this is just unacceptable. Prior to this order I had another order the week before and I had to call to find out where the order was because that employee was also getting off work at a certain time and they got to her office 5 minutes before she left for her vacation. So no I'm not happy with the service I have received at all.

I've used Zahns for several years now. They're always helpful and kind and will put together a florist's choice of their "stuff" if you're unsure of what you want.
No broken stems, no browned-out buds, and my mom always manages to get at least 7 days out of the arrangement.
The last arrangement was delivered early on 2/14 and as of 2/20, they still look as fresh as they did 6 days ago!

I was very disappointed in my order. I understand the flowers vary based on availability but what was delivered looked nothing like I ordered. Yes there were some tulips but only 4 or 5 and they were all droopy when delivered. Mostly just filler flowers. I spent $80 which to me is a lot of money. But what I received was not worth $80. It also included some tacky Birthday Pick and ribbon which I didn't know came with it. I feel it made it cheesy and less elegant. I ordered a very simple all tulips in clear vase. I upgraded with extra tulips to wow my Mom. They arrived on time. But the vase was overly crowded with a lot of untrimmed leaves and additional other flowers, ferns, red bow and a plastic happy birthday thingy. I really only wanted the lovely airy tulips alone as shown on the website. Perhaps if I didn’t upgrade and they hadn’t embellished, the tulips might have sat in the vase probably?
I would recommend communicating no matter how simple, and not go by the examples pictured on the website.

Apparently when you pay for a premium bouquet you get lillies! I'm pretty sure I didn't order lillies??? WTF obviously when you order flowers to be delivered in Florida they give you something that doesn't even come close to looking like what you ordered.

My mom sent me a pic of the flowers, which were beautiful and brought her to tears.

I was absolutely disappointed of on my purchase a centerpiece for my daughter. There was not one white Rose in it, nor even awake coordination to offset all the red, I understood there could be some changes but this was comparing apples to oranges it was a devastating shock and for spending $100+ if I had been local and not from Rhode Island. I would have brought it right back , and got my money back. To be honest I felt really betrayed that somebody can put up pictures like this and receive something different, let's not blame the customer. I told my daughter that I could almost cry. The centerpiece was not elegant it didn't show any purity of Christmas being white and like I said I was very disappointed I called the owner left a message but it was after hours and helped a deal fairly on Monday it was the worst experience I've ever had buying flowers and I went direct so I wouldn't have to deal with one 800 Flowers because my daughter lives in the area and I plan to move there too and hope to be able to do business in the future.

I was disappointed that we didn't have the flowers I requested, especially purple since my Mom has been on a serious purple flower kick lately. When I was called and told the type of purple flowers I requested were not available, I was told about orchids and I agreed. My Mom was really happy with the flower and they were beautiful, but I wish they could have been purple. Also, as beautiful as the arrangement was, it didn't look like an arrangement that I spent $85 on. My previous purchases were fantastic and exceeded my expectations. The bouquet received didn’t look exactly like in photo. Flowers were different, didn’t appear fresh (browning edges), some already withering (delivered yesterday), and can see glue on teacup/saucer (don’t think be able separate without breaking). Completed my order on March 27 for a delivery date of April 8. I called the store at about 2:15 PM to get an update on the delivery the store told me that the flowers that they received were a little late so they were working on getting it out soon. My parents had dinner reservations at 4pm and I was concerned of the delivery being left outside in the heat. I was under the expectation the delivery would have been delivered before noon. I had to call the store again around 345pm and they said it was out on delivery route but as I said my parents were heading to dinner... the store ended up coordinating and delivering to the restaurant but it was an inconvenience in the end because that is not what I originally paid good money for and now my parents had to carefully carry the flowers home... this store did not meet my expectations and I wish they called me to let me know their order was running late which put everything else behind.. will not be ordering again from them..

The bouquet I ordered had bright pink, orange, yellow, and purple flowers- very vibrant. The one that showed up was only yellow and white. Also the bouquet I ordered had Gerber daisies, what looked like asters solidago and purple stock. The only flowers that were in what I ordered and in the one that showed up were lilies. They subbed roses which is fine, but the white flowers were just mums and here was almost no stock and nothing like asters. I'm mostly disappointed in the colors, but also feel like the subbed flowers weren't up to par.

I ordered the flowers for same day delivery. They showed up as promised in the afternoon. There was an issue with the bouquet. We called the story and the lady that answered was very nice and asked for pictures. Once she saw the pictures she called and was very apologetic and offered to send more flowers to correct the issue. We have ordered multiple times from them and never had any issues. Flowers are fresh and last. All companies will make a mistake - it’s how the own it and correct it. Zahn’s Flowers did just that.

The flowers I ordered online were not totally available due to the current circumstances in this country. Online process was incredibly easy, and the staff was amazing when I spoke to them. So, the customer service was great, but the prices were even better! This was my first time using Zahn's Flowers & More. I selected this "Dear Mom" floral arrangement to send to my mother for Easter because she appreciates out-of-the-ordinary, elegant presentations and especially love hydrangeas. She said it was the most beautiful arrangement she had ever received! Zahn's did make some very small changes based on availability of flowers, but the main points were there and the design and overall look were preserved resulting in a gorgeous variation. I saw the pictures of the actual arrangement delivered and was extremely pleased with my choice of arrangement and of florist.

I kept copies of the phone call time and the e-mail. I am notifying my credit card carrier that this is an unauthorized charge. Very disappointed! I would give zero stars but the site won’t allow.

I've dealt about 4 years with this company and all was super until this past week. Although my order was accepted online, they did not communicate with me about the vase being out of stock. I had to call after promised delivery failed. They tried to accommodate me, but in the end the arrangement was received by the recipient exactly one week late and with a substituted vase not agreed to by me. One day they even "misinformed," me about having the vase, but, of course, that was later revealed. If this experience occurs again, I'll look for another. Mistakes do happen.

The florist can't possibly do this on a holiday like Mother's Day! Kind of awkward situation for us. One of several things 1) order did not arrive to proper address, 2) flowers were not of good quality or were dead from being left on doorstep, 3) customer does not like flowers. We have not heard a word from them and they are friends that would normally pick up the phone instantly when we have sent them something!!! The delivery date and time were good and got the flowers to my wife just fine. The flowers were beautiful and she loved them however the flowers I order online (via the picture shown) looked practically NOTHING like what was delivered to my wife. She was still very much surprised and happy however I was disappointed she did not receive the flowers I imagined they would look like based on the website. 4 stars for time, efficiency, and the flowers were beautiful, however they were not what I imagined I ordered. The flowers that were delivered were beautiful, but looked nothing like what we had picked-out. The recepiant was very happy, so that was great! We were just a little disappointed as the colour was important and we had wanted to send a purple bouquet. Overall, we were happy and would order again.

I ordered flowers the day before they were to be delivered. My only request was that they be delivered before noon to my girlfriend's workplace not far in Daytona beach. She had to stay 2 hours past when she was supposed to leave to wait for the delivery, which also ruined the birthday surprise. I'll go to the competition next time.

Very poor experience. Flowers did not show up when expected, terrible customer service, arrangement looks nothing like picture (thrown together), when I called to find out info on what was going on, I was hung up on 3x and they had no knowledge about my order. I provided name, address and confirmation number multiple times and lady was quite rude. I finally had enough and asked for a refund. Three hours later my friends received the flowers that was thrown together. Paid $70 for this arrangement. I got better flowers from a grocery store. Very dissaooiunted, I Will not recommend here. Not even worth the one star I am giving them.

I sent these on Valentine's Day. As I live 3,000 miles away I was hoping to surprise a special friend. Unfortunately he received a mixed flowers arrangement, not the beautiful elegant purple tulips I had ordered. When I called I spoke with Miss E. she was fantastic. I'm sure listening to my complaint on a busy Valentine's Day was not what she needed. However, you could not hear a touch of stress in her voice, she did not rush me and was so pleasant. She explained that the tulips had arrived old and dead, so they substituted. Then she said, we'll make it right. Would you like us to deliver them when we get a new order in and I said YES!! Well they were delivered today. It was perfect. I surprised him twice, once on Valentine's Day and then again today when nothing was expected. THANK YOU for your amazing customer service, it's rare these days but you nailed it! I would definitely refer you to anyone and will be back again for some more surprise deliveries.
