Jolene Earthwednesday

Meet Jolene Earthwednesday Marquez, a San Diego beach town native with a passion for flowers and a lifelong dream of owning her own flower shop. Growing up, Jolene was inspired by her grandfather Laylo, owner of Marquez Landscape with a love for nature. It was he who planted the initial seed watching the beauty he created with his hardworking hands. From the age of 18-25 Jolene worked at multiple flower shops where she honed a unique style of her own. Jolene left the world of flowers as she became a mother going into the Banking industry but continued to work at the same flower shop on major holidays for the pure love of it! 20 years later, despite challenges as a single mother, it was being diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2018 that made her realize dreams are only dreams unless you go after them. On February 15th, 2O20 Jolene had the keys to a charming flower shop in the heart of Bay Park. Little did she know she was going to sell produce to keep the lights on as she acquired this business in the early days of a global pandemic and had to resign from her corporate job. Today, as the owner of a thriving full service flower shop in the heart of the Bay Park, and her second location Village Florist Co in the Heart Of Carlsbad Village. Jolene found a way to combine her love for nature and her passion for creativity. Her floral designs are a true reflection of her free spirit which is dreamy, ethereal and intuitive. Every bouquet she creates is a work of art, infused with her own unique style and energy. Don’t let her carefree nature fool you! Jolene is a hardworking and dedicated self made businesswoman. She is a true inspiration to her community, always encouraging others to follow their own dreams and embrace their inner magic When she's not playing with flowers, Jolene can be found at an estate sale, somewhere in Nature or near anything that inspires her! As a matriarch of her family her love for them runs deep and will do anything for them. Her love for life is infectious and brings a sense of wonder and magic to everything she does.
