For over fifty years, Trapp and Company has assisted clients in creating their visions with a splash of style through our award winning, striking floral arrangements, lavish event productions, and stunning interior design services. Founded in the fall of 1969 by Bob Trapp, Trapp and Company has since become one of the Midwest’s most respected floral and interior design firms, and a Kansas City staple known for its distinguished style and impeccable taste. Trapp is also the home of the world famous line of Trapp Candles and Scents, which were invented in the basement of the shop by Mr. Trapp himself. Along with candles the store continues to provide world class customer service and handpicked gift ideas fit for any budget. With no signs of slowing down, Bob and his staff feel honored for the continued support of their clientele, and look forward to many more years serving the greater Kansas City community with the most unique gifts, floral arrangements and style. We offer same day flower delivery on all orders placed before 1 pm.
Mr Trapp, a native of Russell, Kansas, is a small town boy with high class flair. The only son of a Kansas oil driller, Trapp landed his first job at the ripe age of eleven, sweeping floors at a local flower shop. He carefully studied his co-workers, and before long worked himself into a designer role, quite possibly becoming the youngest designer in sunflower state history. Bob studied Classic Voice at Wichita State University, but upon realizing that the life of an opera star was one filled with countless late nights and endless hotel rooms, he changed directions and headed to the big city. After arriving in Kansas City, he soon began work at the historic Liesveld’s flower shop, where he worked alongside many of the cities floral greats. Upon opening his own shop in Westport in the fall of 1969, Bob soon began attracting a clientele composed of some of the area’s most notable figures, and before long went international. From Ambassadors, to Presidents, to Princesses, he has orchestrated illustrious events for some of the world’s most distinguished individuals of the 20th century.

When temperatures are below freezing, our policy is to contact the recipient to arrange delivery. This ensures the flowers are not exposed to freezing air, which can cause damage. In this case, we reached out and left two voicemails but did not receive a response until Sunday when we were closed. As soon as we heard back, we delivered the flowers promptly. For future orders, we recommend ensuring the recipient can be reached by phone and letting them know to expect a delivery during colder weather. Including any preferred delivery times or special instructions also helps us deliver as smoothly as possible.

|We were approaching 4 and 5 o’clock and my recipient hadn’t received her flowers. I called to inquire about when they’d be delivered and bc the recipient now had already left her office- and if it was later, would it be too late to have it redirected.
I total her I completely understood whatever can or cannot be done- I thought I was being understanding but the lady on the phone was the worst. She sounded irritated from the minute she got on the phone. I was very understanding and flexible as to where the flowers were, not needing a redelivery but I did want to know where they were…
She was so rude and condescending on the phone that it ruined the whole experience.
She went off, making a bunch of excuses and rudely saying “well- if you wanted it by a certain time, you should’ve said something”… I never needed it by a “specific” time, just in the “normal day hours” that a delivery would have been made- She came back with “well- you can come get here and I’ll guess I used that arrangement for something else”….
At this point she’s making it sound like I did something wrong by simply asking where my flowers are. I was so turned off by the experience. At the end of it all- The flowers were just ok, not spectacular like I had seen from a friend and after the gawd awful service - nope. Complete waste of money. For a buck fifty I could have done something way better delivery-wise for my Moms Birthday. Surprisingly and incredibly disappointing AND stressful!

Substituting small pink roses for the premier flower was NOT acceptable.

|The only reason I ranked as a “4” is the $30 fee to deliver to 143rd and Outlook in OP! In my opinion, I feel this delivery fee felt like a penalty and is excessive. It will discourage us from purchasing flowers from Trapp in the future. Gas is not that expensive and this makes no sense. $20 is much more appropriate. I get it- a long way south but if you want to market your store and flowers to as many people as possible, this is not it. Sorry.

Every gift ordered through BloomNation is personally hand-delivered by the local florist.
Each local florist sets their own delivery area and fee.
Most florists offer same-day hand delivery, but may have different order received
cut-off times for same-day delivery that are based off of the recipient’s time zone.
Florists that offer same-day delivery display their same-day delivery cut-off time in
their store detail section. Orders received after that time may be delivered the
