The Flower Cottage is locally owned and operated by 3rd generation Charlestonians. We guarantee all of our products and designs 100%. All designs are made per order. We have been serving the Lowcountry for over 35 years. The Flower Cottage has fresh cut flowers, green plants, Blooming plants, balloons, chocolates and gifts. ABOUT THE OWNER
Peggy Sirisky, Owner and Designer
I am a Charlestonian and I take great pride in the service and reputation of my business. I am a mother of 3 and grandmother of 4. I attended Bishop England High School, Trident Tec (associates in Business)after a few years in the restaurant industry, I decided to attend a floral/art design school in Atlanta. When I returned to Charleston, My Mother, Margie and I opened The Flower Cottage near the College of Charleston campus, on the corner of Wentworth and St. Philip Streets in a small 800 square ft. building owned by Dr. Joe Sam Palmer and his daughter Dr. Olivia Palmer. Working across from a famous and popular Charleston artist, John Doyle. Such a thrill to have the flowers he purchased from my shop in his paintings. His favorite was the blue hydrangea. The college students became my steady cash flow, selling roses to them for $1 a stem. Then after graduation they would come to The Flower Cottage for me to do their weddings flowers. From there, needing more space, I decided to moved to 281 Meeting Street. This location was very commercial looking, large and didn't have the "flower cottage" street appeal that I desired. My father, Charles "Buddy" Sirisky and I set out to find a "corner store" that would have the eye appeal of a true cottage. He contacted family friend, Mike Bennett, owner of many properties, "The Hotel Bennett" being one of them. Mike knew the owner of 31 Elizabeth St. and knew the owner wanted to sell....but to someone of his choosing. I met with Augustine Chrysostom and made an offer. The building was once a corner butcher store, "Costas", that my father used to purchased meat and groceries from as a child. It was now completely dilapidated, filled with pigeons, the windows covered with metal bars. There was a Bell South Payphone attached to the John Street side that was kept busy being used by unwanted and unsavory characters. I purchased the property. Blood, sweat and tears went into the 2 year renovation of my building. It was a family project, met with more issues than most people would tolerate. All the while still running and operating The Flower Cottage...I did not give up. This was recognized in the year 2000 by winning the famed Carolopolis Award. I was finally able to relocated The Flower Cottage to its home, 31 Elizabeth Street, corner of John and Elizabeth Streets in the Mazyck-Wraggborough neighborhood of Charleston. My neighbors, Bob, Vangie and countless others are always there to support my business. My house accounts include countless locals, hotels, restaurants, colleges, high schools, funeral homes, hospitals and professional individuals. With the help of a dedicated staff, I have continued to thrive through all the ups and downs of the economy, and now a world wide pandemic. My employees and I take pride in sending out the highest in quality, beautiful and always handcrafted flower arrangements. We take great pride in our weddings and events from downtown to the Islands. Our subscriptions allow you to select a delivery frequency that best suits your needs - either weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.
How often will I be billed?
You will be billed 5 days before the delivery schedule you select (either weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly). This is to ensure your florist will have adequate time to prepare your order.
How do I make changes to my subscription plan?
You can call the florist any time before the scheduled delivery or pickup date to make changes to your subscription plan and orders.
Can I pause my subscription plan?
Yes, you can! contact us at (843) 577-6224, let us know the next best delivery date and we’ll pause your subscription.
How do I cancel my subscription plan?

I had asked for flowers to be delivered to a Charleston hotel but mistakenly asked for the wrong Monday. Flower Cottage was notified on the Tuesday morning after they had been delivered. No problem, they told me. The flowers arrived again the next Monday in the room.

I contacted company to verify that they could deliver to the hospital my wife was at, their response was very quickly and stated it would have to be the next day instead of same day. Order was placed, the confirmation and receipt came through immediately. The flower arrangement was delivered the next day as requested and was better than the picture showed. I’m very disappointed with the orchid that I sent to my niece this year. This is a Christmas tradition to send an orchid from The Flower Cottage but the orchid was very small with tacky red bows and white sticks that had no apparent arrangement….so disappointing and certainly not up to the high standard that I have seen in the past…

I went online to place the order but when I realized same day deliver was not an option I called them to see if they could accommodate me and they happily did just that as well as add balloons onto the order for me over the phone. The ordering process online was easy with many options to choose from in different price ranges. I was contacted the next morning because the basket shown in the photo was not available so they used an upgraded ceramic vase instead. This was a very nice gesture! The bouquet was delivered very quickly that same day. Overall, I was very happy with the service.
My only complaint is about the number of flowers in the arrangement. The person who received it sent me a picture and it had fewer of the larger flowers than the deluxe arrangement shown on the web site. Otherwise, the arrangement was beautiful but I shouldn't have paid the extra $25 for the deluxe. :-(

There was no stethoscope or doctor's bag. I upgraded to the premium basket & it wasn't even worth the basic price! I should at least get a refund of the upgrade charge! I thought it would have more than one sunflower, as this is the flower my daughter really likes it only had one). From the photos the recipient sent, the arrangement looked a little rushed. The roses were bunched together and there weren't any pinecones. BUT it did look like there were extra white roses and berries added, so I'm not unhappy if that's the trade-off for pinecones. Not sure what time delivery was, maybe not in the time window I asked for but luckily the weather was good so the arrangement was fine on her front porch for a bit. Overall, my mother was happy and surprised and said they were beautiful so that's all that matters at the end of the day. Thank you very much for a job well done!

The flowers were gorgeous and arrived early which was great. However my name was misspelled with a typo, as I spelled it correctly when I bought the arrangement. Adrianna turned into ANdrianna, the former being the correct spelling and what I typed out and confirmed in my confirmation email. The owner, Peggy, promptly notified me that she would not be able to deliver to the hospital due to visitor restrictions. My manager announced to our group yesterday morning that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. She works in SC, and I work remotely in PA. Arrangement was nothing that even resembled picture. I understand the need and reason for substitution but I specifically choose a purple arrangement as it was the favorite color of the recipient...there was one purple flower in the entire large bouquet! Why did I pay more for this arrangement when I should have choose a cheaper option and it probably would have ended up being the same result.

200 miles away, I have no idea how the flowers turned out. I do know that getting a generic delivery confirmation after 8 in the evening is not useful: I needed to know when they were delivered in order to follow up with the recipient.

There are 3 level of bouquets and the standard was supposed to approximately look like the picture, and we ordered the Deluxe and it looked less than the photos. It was significantly smaller and lacked color. It was pretty, but not at all worth $105. I could have gotten a nicer bouquet at a grocery store for less than 1/2 the price.

Disappointed - The arrangement was not what I ordered. Flowers were on time , fresh & lovely. But I spent a lot of time selecting two African violets with butterflies in a basket with a handle for easy portability. I got a very tall orchid- not portable at all.

The flowers were stunning, and you cant go wrong with the delivery cost. Best out there!! The only two minor things were The flowers on the website were much more tame and muted (which is kind of why i chose them) than what was received (very vibrant and loud). And the addition of one single flower in the inside point of the heart could have made it look like a heart instead of an upside down triangle. But it could have fallen off in transit or something so I am not holding that against anyone. I know it sounds crazy to want less vibrant flowers, but it was the funeral of my grandmother-in-law and I wasn't able to attend. I wanted beauty but quiet. I don't know. I wish I could attach a side by side to explain better. They were gorgeous though.
