How did we do???? Terrible! It would have been nice if the plant that was sent was the one as shown here, as it was the one as ordered, but it wasn't. You sent a plant arrangement in a nine-inch pot. When I confronted you, you said the plants I ordered were out of season or unavailable. You did offer some money back, but I refused. It was not about the money. I wanted that plant. I should have been informed that plant was unavailable so I could choose another arrangement to my liking. Totally disappointed!

This is what I had selected but I received a totally different plant and vase. The vase that was switched looked like a cup. I can understand running out of something, but they could have picked a better looking trade.
They said they sent me an email but I never received it. I would have selected a better container. If they ever get this one in again I will purchase it. I love the look of it.

The owner did an excellent job putting together two wonderful displays on very short notice for a family funeral. I really can't say anything bad about this place. This is my second time ordering from Simply Elegant Flowers. My first experience with them was generally positive.
I chose this arrangement as a Mother's day gift. Sunday (Mother's Day delivery) was unavailable, so I opted for Saturday delivery. This was okay with me as I do not like the idea of making anyone work on Mother's Day.
There are three price tiers for this arrangement, Standard, Deluxe and Premium. The description for the Premium is:
"We will add more blooms and select the highest quality flowers we offer in this style."
Believing that paying the premium would assure me that the recipient would receive a beautiful and healthy arrangement, I placed the order, and with tax and delivery fees, I paid just over 150 dollars. It was pricey, but I did choose the more premium package, so no grumbles there.

A day or so after I placed my order, I received an email notice that "Based on our current fresh inventory, there will be some substitutions in your arrangement." This too was fine by me as I understand the nature of perishable items, growing seasons and the like. The "fresh" term was especially reassuring.

The arrangment arrived at about 8:30AM on Saturday morning. As the delivery person handed me the vase, I immediately noticed the bottom row of blooms were pointed downward. I initially thought this was intentional, but as the day progressed I realized the bottom blooms were not pointed, but rather they were drooping with dreaded 'bent stem.' The lower, drooping blooms were either old or poorly stored. The upper blooms on the same arrangement were still upright and fresh looking. The dying blooms being placed at the bottom was obviously strategic. Of course, one could argue that it was my fault, the house was too warm (68°f), I didn't change/treat the water etc... But two days later, the upper blooms were still fine, and the same bottom row of flowers condition had worsened. Clearly there was no neglect on my part. It was obvious to me that the arranger tried to hide the older blooms at the bottom of the arraignment. Had I paid much less and purchased these at the supermarket, or on the street, I would have expected this uneven quality. Still, I would not be writing this review had I received a message from the florist saying they didn't have enough fresh blooms and they had to lower my arrangement to the standard package, or even, being upfront about what they'd done in trying to camouflage the older blooms, and were offering a credit or something. Instead, they gave me an inferior product, but charged me the same premium with no explaination.

I always opt to support local businesses when I can. In this case, I paid a premium to do so. I realize mistakes can be made. But this was obviously an attempt at cutting corners without adjusting pricing. It makes Simply Elegant Flowers untrustworthy to me. With regret, I am crossing Simply Elegant Flowers off my list of businesses to patronize.

These flowers were a birthday gift for a high school friend who’s not doing well physically (we’re in our mid-70’s), whose favorite color is yellow. She was very pleased to receive them, and the photo shows beautiful, cheery sunflowers. I didn’t see the delivered product, so I’ll focus this review on Simply Elegant Flowers. Website is easy to use, staff is extremely responsive, friendly, helpful and customer-oriented; delivery is reliable, and variety of flowers and arrangements plentiful. Only small negative and likely just a sign of the inflationary time we’re living through, delivery charge seemed a tad high at $12+, since company is in Smithfield, RI, and my friend lives in Lincoln, RI, right off 146, fairly close by. Still, Simply Elegant Flowers is my go to flower service for the RI area they cover.

The bouquet received looked nothing like the picture. I did receive a notice from the florist that tulips weren't available so they were making a substitution. I called to make sure they weren't putting in lilies since the recipient had a cat and lillies are toxic for cats.
The bouquet arrived and instead of the white flowers shown in the picture, there were yellow Alstroemeria, also known as Peruvian lilies, which can cause upset stomachs in cats. The yellow flowers were removed and this is what remained:

I have to say I was a little disappointed in how few flowers were in it. Lots of filler and bows but few flowers. 12/20 I am doing a 2nd review because I got to see the arrangement in person. There were 2 red roses one white rose 4 sprays of white mum's and about 3-4 sprays red carnations! If that was the Deluxe version I wonder what the Standard looks like☹️

Absolutely excellent transaction. I ordered this lovely Christmas Cactus and a short time later, I received a cordial phone call from Joanne. She told me that this plant was sold out but that she had a few other options for me. I needed a smaller size as it was for my 97 year old mom in independent care (small apartment). Beautiful flowers and excellent customer service.
As soon as I ordered the flowers I was contacted by the shop letting me know they were out of some of the flowers pictured for the arrangement. I let them know the only flowers in the arrangement important to me were the sunflowers and I trusted their choices for the rest of the design.
The arrangement received was better then what was pictured! Absolutely beautiful and the recipient loved them.

When I went to visit my sister yesterday and saw the flowers that you chose, I was very disappointed . I chose this arrangement because it looked cheerful. The one you sent was all in browns with red roses that looked like they had been in your shop for a while. And the sunflowers were so small you could hardly see them. I do not usually give bad reviews, but this time I have to. You could have put some contracting colors in the arrangement to make it look a little more cheerful.

The delivery was good, the updates were good, but the arrangement was not as expected. I’m aware it’s not going to look exactly like the product but this felt like a totally different arrangement. The vase was completely different, and there were not nearly as many flowers as the product picture. The substitution of the flowers is no issue it’s the fact that I am paying for this full bouquet in this pretty vase and instead I get a mason jar with many gaps. Everything else about this experience was fine

The plant was beautiful and met my expectations. I was a bit disturbed when the plant was delivered to my daughter's neighbor's house, even though I had given specific delivery instructions. Although it took several "tries" to retreive the plant from the neighbor's, my daughter did finally obtain the plant.

Since I had not heard from the recipient of this order, (mother)
I decided to call her this morning. She had no idea a flower
delivery had been made to her home on Wednesday, May 10. She found themmin the corner on her front step. I had made note in my instructions that the recipient was hearing impaired and to please make note upon delivery. I assumed they would either both ring bell and knock on door and or call the phone number that I was asked to provide in the order
itself.

For my mother's 88th birthday, she hasn't stopped raving about how beautiful they are. Easy ordering and immediate followup with the florist re a question. I wrote a review of my experience on Google Reviews. This was a terrible experience - the worst I've had sending flowers. Very disappointing. Why would you ask for "special instructions" and then ignore them? Or at the very least, call the sender and tell them you can't do it!
