ABOUT THE STORE
Sherwood Florist
Sherwood’s roots go almost as deep as the city of Claremont itself. Our iconic stone structure with its red tile roof was built in 1923 for the Sterling Oil Spray Company, which served Claremont’s endless citrus orchards. Though we’re located along Route 66, our building is actually older than America’s most famous highway by three years! Fun fact: The river stones that comprise the exterior are affectionately called “Claremont potatoes.” Sherwood’s unique facade is a reminder of the rocky soil farmers had to overcome in the late 1800s and early 1900s to develop southern California’s legendary citrus groves. When the area’s citrus industry declined, the building became Spiers Garage. In 1985, local entrepreneur Juan DeLira purchased the location and founded Claremont’s finest floral shop, Sherwood Florist, and a beloved cornerstone of the community was born. Local resident Sean Tao began training with Juan in September 2021, and acquired the business in August 2022 and maintains close ties with the DeLira family while carrying their long tradition of floral artistry forward. WHAT’S NEXT FOR SHERWOOD? Preserving the community that has blossomed around Sherwood through the decades is the most important thing for Sean and the DeLira family. There might be some changes on the periphery, but at its heart, Sherwood will be the same as it always was. Some of the new additions will include a gift boutique and small photography studio, so we can share even more of that beloved Sherwood taste and class. ABOUT THE OWNER
Sean Tao
After 13 years of professional photography, digital restoration and archival work, Sean is no stranger to meticulous work that produces beautiful results. But by 2021, it was time to cut out the grinding commute and spend more time with her favorite person: her son Eli. Meeting Juan by chance opened the door to the incredible world of floral design, and she never looked back. Sean is so honored that Juan has trusted her with his 37-year legacy. Sean’s family moved from Taiwan to Ohio when she was a young girl, and it was in her family’s small-town restaurant that she learned to love being part of a closely-knit community. She found that sense of extended family again after moving to Mt. Baldy several years ago, where she also serves as a volunteer firefighter. You can support the Mt. Baldy Fire Department by clicking their logo below! Sean loves working with her hands, creating new friendships, expressing emotions through flowers, and making her customers’ visions come to life—whether it’s a birthday, wedding, anniversary, graduation, celebration of life or funeral service. Fun fact: Sean’s favorites are all California native wildflowers—but if she had to pick something else, it would be peonies!

Our subscriptions allow you to select a delivery frequency that best suits your needs - either weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.
How often will I be billed?
You will be billed 5 days before the delivery schedule you select (either weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly). This is to ensure your florist will have adequate time to prepare your order.
How do I make changes to my subscription plan?
You can call the florist any time before the scheduled delivery or pickup date to make changes to your subscription plan and orders.
Can I pause my subscription plan?
Yes, you can! contact us at (909) 625-3309, let us know the next best delivery date and we’ll pause your subscription.
How do I cancel my subscription plan?

The flowers themselves were nice and similar to what they showed online; however, I ordered an add-on metal decoration of a blue hummingbird. Instead of the hummingbird, they put in a large BROWN butterfly. I picked the hummingbird specifically because my friend likes them, and it lent some color to the arrangement. I paid $24.00 + tax for the add-on. If there was going to be a substituution, they should have called and asked me first. Very disappointed.

My first experience was less than desired due to poor delivery but the flowers were ok. I decided to give a second chance and this time the wrong item was delivered. This was to convey warm thoughts due to death in the family. It took the recipient calling to ask about it because the card was wrong. Yes, the error was corrected but when I sent pictures of the design they received, it was not my money’s worth in my opinion. Unfortunate.

The roses/arrangement were as pictured, if not prettier. My wife was very pleased. The delivery service was also great. No one was home at the time of delivery. But, not wanting to leave the arrangement unattended outside, the driver contacted us and waited for someone to physically receive the flowers. I ordered the Tropical Exotics arrangement for my Mom as a Mother's Day gift, as she's in California and I'm in New York. Flowers are a sure way to put a smile on my Mom's face, and I thought this arrangement would definitely do the trick. My mum ended up getting something completely different than it was on the picture. I also pai for a premiu upgrade but the box delivered was defenitely not upgraded. Sherwood offered to refund premium portion of price and deliver another bouquet the following week. Therefore I would give good customer service review to Sherwood florist. Loved the flowers! Delivered too early however and had to be left outside although were asked to be delivered later. Envelope flap was stuck to message so it tore when opened and much was unable to be read. But flowers were excellent.

I have used Sherwood Florist for my very picky, vocal mother! They NEVER let me down! I will NOT use another FLORIST! My mom loves exotic arrangements, they are the very best! The 1st experience I had with them was a special request for Lavender roses and a lavender basket that she could use for white towels role inside. OMG right? The florist made a special trip to pick the flowers and her eye for arranging is always GORGEOUS She foubd the perfect basket spray painted, never charging more then the crapy florest in downtown Claremont! It is a passion for quality with SHERWOOD FLORIST. You will not be disappointed! This time my kids sent Birthday flowers, another piece of ART! I also needed corsages for profxessional pictures, I called the Florist downtown Claremont figuring Sherwood Florist would be pricey. They wouldn't do it and aren't open on Sundays, my mom's birthday was 2 days out and on Sunday! SHERWOOD TO THE RESCUE, and only $40.00 for 3 gorgeous Corsages. My mom's was the most beautiful purple and whitish orchid.They are open every day too! They have never let me down!

My mother loves flowers and when she lived in Sierra Madre I ordered arrangements for her from Jacob Maarse. I was sure I could find nothing remotely as beautiful when she moved to Pomona so must give kudos to the Sherwood Florist. The flowers are beautiful and the arrangements interesting and well thought out. There has never been an issue with delivery. Most recently I just asked for a "custom" arrangement at a specific price point, said my mom loves red roses and the theme should be Christmas and so far I have had several photos sent to me by my mom, she has been putting the arrangement in the common area of her retirement center during the day for all to enjoy. A very large bouquet, red roses included within it, and quite stunning. I appreciate having such a florist shop to call on for my mom as I live in Oregon. Their flowers make her happy.

Every gift ordered through BloomNation is personally hand-delivered by the local florist.
Each local florist sets their own delivery area and fee.
Most florists offer same-day hand delivery, but may have different order received
cut-off times for same-day delivery that are based off of the recipient’s time zone.
Florists that offer same-day delivery display their same-day delivery cut-off time in
their store detail section. Orders received after that time may be delivered the
following day. Please note some florists may not make deliveries on Sunday.
