Samuel's Florist
Samuel's Florist has been serving Burbank and the surrounding cities of Sun Valley, North Hollywood, Glendale, Studio City, Sun Valley and parts of Hollywood for over 80 years. We service the Walt Disney employee centers and deliver to Warner Brothers, the Burbank Studios, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Deluxe, iLLUMINATE HOLLYWOOD, and all recording and post houses in the Burbank area. We deliver to St. Joseph's hospital, Forest Lawn in both Hollywood Hills and Glendale, Mount Sinai Memorial Parks, Pierce Brothers Valhalla, Eden Memorial, and San Fernando Mission. We also offer affordable graveside floral placement services to Forest Lawn, Mount Sinai and Valhalla. History of Samuel's Florist Established in 1937. Samuel's Florist was started in 1937 by Samuel Morhaime near the corner of Alameda and Victory as a cash and carry flower stand. In the early 1950's the business was moved into a building at 921 W. Olive (designed by architect John Lautner, a well know student of Frank Lloyd Wright) and became a full-service florist. Samuel's sons, Billy and Victor joined the business which eventually passed to them and carried on Samuel’s traditions of quality and service as well as being helpful citizens in the community. Both sons were members of many service groups in Burbank, including the Kiwanis, Sertomas, Shriners and Masons. Both Billy and Victor were also active in their respective temples, Temple Sinai and Sephardic Temple Tifereth Israel. Donna Smith began working with Victor and Billy in 1986 and was instructed not only in floral design but business by both Billy and Victor. She shared their passion for flowers and outstanding customer service. In 1996, Billy passed away and Donna assisted Victor in running the shop until 1998 when Victor retired. Donna took over running of the shop and acquired another long time Burbank florist, Bud's Flowers, and continued operating as Samuel's Florist while became the in house florist for Mount Sinai Memorial Parks. Donna also continued the public service tradition of Samuel, Billy and Victor by supporting many local organizations and directing the Burbank Sidewalk Astronomers, an organization providing free educational events to the public as well as local libraries and schools. Samuel’s has always stayed true to our beliefs of quality product, outstanding customer service and fair pricing. We value tradition in business and floristry, but we have also kept current with trends and practices. Samuel’s was among the first florists in the Los Angeles area to be fully computerized and have an online presence. We continue to stay abreast of floral trends and design styles while making use of technology. In 2015, we severed our official relationship with Mount Sinai, although we continue to service our customers with Jewish funerals. In 2017, we moved to a better business model for us, moving from our longtime storefront into a more flexible floral studio. Like many small businesses, a majority of our work came from telephone and online sources and eliminating the store front allows us more freedom to service customers while keeping our prices reasonable. In recent years, Samuel’s has also started focusing on our place in society and our commitment to the environment which gives us such a beautiful and amazing product to sell. We recycle all of our green and paper waste, buy as much product from local farms as possible, maintain a vase recycling program with customers, and try to limit our use of floral foam as much as we can. While Samuel's is not owned by the Morhaime family, the staff has continued to be trained with the standards set by Samuel over 75 years ago. Our foundation of honesty, customer relationships, fresh product, artistic design and honest pricing has allowed us to succeed and look forward. While one of the oldest businesses in Burbank, we continue to move forward.

Samuel’s Florist was an absolute joy to work with. I wrote a note when I ordered, indicating that the flowers would be going to a household with cats, and received a call from the florist indicating that she was knowledgeable on pet-safe flowers thanks to her work with animal hospitals. This was unexpected, but so welcome - I have never experienced this level of care and follow-up for an online flower order before. The flowers came out beautifully, the recipient was delighted, and recipient’s cats were able to exist peacefully with the flowers with no issues! I will be ordering from here again for sure.

Ordering online was easy. Price was reasonable with no hidden fees, as I discovered when I contacted other florists in the area. Appreciated the photo I received of what the arrangement looked like before delivery. It looked better than than the picture on the website! It was also easy to call the shop to find out when the arrangement would be delivered. I then received an email when it was delivered, which was also appreciated.

Samuels Florist takes great pride in every arrangement made. I’ve used them for several years now and each time the arrangements are beautiful. They go above and beyond in all they do. Recently they called to ask me if I wanted my arrangement delivered same day (Christmas Eve). I ordered late and didn’t expect delivery until after the holidays. To my amazement, the arrangement arrived at my daughter’s door within a few hours and as always, it was gorgeous. I have had the pleasure of doing business with Samuel's Florist in Burbank, CA for some time. I continue to use Samuel's Florist because they consistently offer the best service, a wonderful selection and most importantly, on the rare occasion there is a problem with delivery, THEY COMMUNICATE. Such was the case on a previous order...the recipient did not answer the door. It was August and the weather was hot. I received a call from Samuel's advising me of the problem. They did not want to leave the arrangement in the heat and returned to the store. Contacted me. I resolved the issue. The arrangement was delivered intact. This year, same recipient met the delivery woman at the door. The delivery person gave the recipient some pointers on how to maintain her plant. Besides that, Samuel's Florist emailed me a photo of the actual arrangement which differed from the online photo. It was (is) gorgeous! Samuel's Florist...they are the best!

Fortunately, I haven't had to use any florist for a funeral service in over 10 years, but when my first love of my life recently passed away, Samuel's was my first and only choice. Excellent service ! The florist had extra roses that she added to my wreath for memorial service and it came out beautiful. I had detailed communication on the delivery. At the day of delivery on a very hot day, the owner spent extra time locating the memorial service inside the church and the wreath was centrally displayed. She also sent me a photo. The arrangement came out beautiful! There were some flowers that weren't available, I was called/ emailed/ texted the substitutes. Even checked that someone would be home to receive the flowers as it was a hot day, and it wouldn't be good for them to sit on a porch. The recipient loved them!

"A wall of flowers" is how the recipient described her flowers. I love that the florist sends a snapshot of the flowers prior to delivery. It really helps ensure that what you ordered is what was delivered. The florist even let me know that there were some flower substitutions that were done. Samuel’s Florist is hands down the BEST Florist I have ever worked with! Other florists should take a lesson from customer service and product, value for your money and an all around classy establishment. I received notification of delivery to my recipient without having to ask for it, an email with a picture of what was delivered, instructions were followed as to time of delivery and a call beforehand to the recipient like was requested, and the flowers and vase were in gorgeous condition, plentiful flowers and looked like the picture! I’m only sorry they are located 350 miles away or I’d use them anytime I needed flowers sent! (And no, I’m in no way related to this florist!)

The arrangement I ordered wasn’t produced as the same as the picture. The pictured arrangement was chosen by the look of it. The basket, wood extensions and plants are all different. Flower placements were not attractive. Over all not happy with the arrangement.

I was pleased in every way with they bouquet Samuel's Florist delivered to my daughter for her birthday. Not only did they allow me to change what I'd originally ordered, they sent me a photo of the completed project (which you can see by the picture was gorgeous), and then sent my daughter a text to alert her she had a delivery in receiving to ensure it would get to her and not wilt. The delivery time was great--something like 9:30 in the morning--without any extra charges to make sure it arrived on time. I could not be more pleased, and my daughter was ecstatic!

I have never had a florist be so good with communication. I ordered online as I am Colorado. I picked an arrangement for same-day delivery and the florist had already gone to the flower market and didn't have exactly what was in the original arrangement. They let me know right away and made the arrangement even more beautiful than the one I had picked out. They also communicated with the husband of my friend who was to receive the flowers to make sure they would be home and they sent me a picture of the actual arrangement. I was also notified when the delivery had been made. I couldn't ask for anything more! I would highly recommend Samuel's Florest.

Very nice although I would have added a bow of some sort, maybe burlap or something along those lines. The vase looks bare so maybe even a shorter vase would work because it looks much shorter in the picture. Just a thought.

I bought these online for my wife. After having a less than stellar experience at a competitor I was a little nervous about the whole thing. Come Delivery day Samuel’s sent me a picture of the bouquet which was AMAZING. My wife got the flowers and texted me that they were absolutely beautiful and her whole workplace smelled of fresh flowers. She was super happy and therefore I am too haha. I would definitely recommend this florist to others with the hopes that you get the same quality service I received!

This was my first time using Samuel's Florist and I chose this business because of it's location to my recipient and the wonderful reviews. But, I would use them again because of the performance. My recipient is a cautious and careful person...does not open the door for strangers. Knowing this, I instructed Samuel's to CALL first before making the delivery. They did as instructed but when they were not able to make contact with the recipient, they called me. Samuel's did not want to leave the delivery on the porch as it was a rather warm day. I contacted a family member and was able to coordinate the delivery. It was only then that I learned that the recipient does not answer unidentified phone calls either. At any rate, my recipient called me to thank me for the BEAUTIFUL orchid...it made her day as special as she is. Thanks to Veronica at Samuel's for following instructions and taking it to the next step which made this delivery successful. Thank you so much. Highly recommend Samuel's Florist in Burbank, CA.

I ordered online so I didn't really interact with SF. I noted in the request that my wife had been feeling a little down, so wanted something cheerful. I was surprised at how quickly after I placed the order she was texting me a photo of the flowers and telling me how much she appreciated them - delivery was super-fast. I thought prices were reasonable, too. Will definitely try SF again in the future. Will be interested to see how they handle requests like a particular color palette or requests for arrangements to evoke a particular theme or feeling.

It turned out that what I ordered was something else than what I thought, and the one who was preparing my order understood by what I wrote on the card to the recipient. She didnt have to care at all, but she called me up and explained it to me, as well as offering to do something more like what I wanted for the same price. What could have been a poor gift by mistake, ended up being much better than what I actually paid for – all because of the kind employee at Samuel's. Thank you so much!

A lovely bouquet which was very well received. Donna called to ask me if it would be acceptable to substitute lilacs and orchids for peonies because of the late season - other florists I have dealt with don't usually bother to ask with something smaller like this - so I agreed. I ordered a 170 dollar bouquet 3 weeks early that was to be sent to my girlfriend on Valentine's Day. When it arrived, it looked absolutely awful. It looked like I a 20 dollar Walmart bouquet. This was not cool. What should have been a "WOW! It's so beautiful" turned into a "Dang, he's cheap." Extremely disappointed, I called Samuels florist to complain. The manager promised to fix it. About an hour later this bouquet arrived. While it was better than the first, it was still nothing like what I had ordered. This new bouquet, once again, looked like it belonged in a produce case at Walmart. Very disappointedly, I urge you to order from somewhere else.
