Mike & Lauren Moscato
Mike Moscato has owned River City Florist for 34 years. He first got his start in the floral business as being a delivery driver. After growing up in the floral business Mike's daughter Lauren Moscato started as a designer and is now part-owner and design room manager. Together they make a great team along with their awesome staff.

River City is my favorite florist but I was disappointed in this arrangement. The arrangement is pretty, but it is very misleading in that when I ordered the bright mix small $50 bouquet. I got a bouquet with two pink roses, a lot of greenery, a few hydrangeas that wilted immediately and some spray Painted pink stems. It was not your usual up to par, worth $50 arrangements.

I wanted to send flowers to a friend that had been in the hospital for a week. She lives in Ashland and local florists weren't delivering. I ordered flowers online from River City for delivery to Ashland. Mike Moscato called to be sure my friend would be home because the weather was awful. Definitely did not receive a bouquet like the one pictured. Mine had a completely different vase and the arrangement was full of greens rather than flowers even though I paid extra for flowers. Not worth the money I spent.

I’m giving 3 stars - for prompt same day delivery was good, fresh smell from the blooms chosen, and delivered to correct person/address.
I chose a low, lush wildflower arrangement and I know sometimes the exact flowers aren’t available as listed in the photos. However, the arrangement was much smaller than the pictured example, carnations were chosen to replace varied roses, and the filler was pretty standard and cheap versus more wildflowers that would also eventually bloom. For $82 all in, I’m disappointed annd could have easily ran to a grocery store if I wanted carnations and filler. I wouldn’t have known what the final arrangement looked like had I not gotten a photo from my family.
I always choose to support local florists when I can. When I couldn’t be there in person for his recovery, I was trying to really give him something special and although fragrant, I’m disappointed in the outcome.

There were several very nice looking arrangements for me to choose from. I selected Lauren's Favorite. The arrangement was put together and delivered within 1-1/2 hours of purchasing it. The arrangement was beautiful. I was very dissapointed that some of the taller flowers in the back were wilted, almost dead, as were a few of the other flowers. I have had arrangements similar to that last for at least a week, and longer...not this one, unfortunately. Sad.

I did get to see a photo of the flowers and I know there is no guarantee they will look like the sample photo but I was a little disappointed. There appeared to be more greenery than flowers. It was not as compact and colorful as I had hoped.

My mother was thrilled for her birthday flowers. I was a little disappointed there wasn’t any purple except a small filler, she likes purple. However, as the disclaimers say and I often forget, I understand that it was an ultra convenient zero notice same day delivery online order and I still got the type of flowers I paid for such as roses. They were all high quality and looked great.

I was pleased with the same day delivery, however I was very disappointed with the arrangement. While I understand that arrangements will not look exactly as what is pictured, the product that was delivered was a very different vibe. It actually was VERY different and was missing the major focal point of the arrangement, the succulent. The wine was a hit!

The flowers made my sister’s day! Not living in Jefferson City anymore, but having river city florist makes it better when I know I can send something beautiful to family and friends back home. Very disappointed! Take out the green yoko's, gerbera daisies, take out the roses and the blueperium and what is left? Here is what was sent for $60 plus delivery- half dozen carnations, maybe two stems of alstromerria, 2-3 maybe mini hydrangeas, a little waxflower(not bloomed), and some greenery (leather and italian ruscus.
I asked for substitutions since they didn't have any gerbera daisies, and not more roses which they suggested, (since it was going to a nursing home. I asked to replace the roses and gerberas with extra carnations and other flowers like alstromerria, fuji mums, etc., but what I got was basically added alstromerria.
As a newly retired florist, this looked more like a 35-40 dollar arrangement including the vase. The most expensive flower is the mini hydrangeas. Will be sending my friend more flowers, but not from this shop.

The florist did not have the container shown in the website and sent a note saying it would be substituted with a red one. Wrong. It was black, which is a horrible Christmas birthday color. The arrangement didn't look anything like the order photo. They stuck a big pine cone in the front center instead of Christmas ornaments and ribbon and added a cheesy bow in the back right corner. Worth $70? NO. Maybe $10. I called twice today and left messages but never received a return call. A very unsatisfied event and obviously going to Busch's Florist next time. Sad when it should have been joyous and beautiful.

This arrangement costs me over $60 all in. It was pretty but really small and had a definite front and back as there was an area with very little flowers and just greenery…I’d attach a pic if I was able. Also they used carnations while the pic looks more like peonies. The description didn’t specify so that’s on me but two carnations? Why not a few more on the blank side? I just really think $60 should get you a bit more than what was sent. I don’t think anyone else would do better for that price but I’m getting tired of paying too much for too little and I just can’t send flowers nearly as often as I would if the prices were better! I’d probably spend even more if it felt like a better value for the money. It was very quick and the delivery was perfect. The recipient was very pleased and that is the point! Thank you for that!

Thoughtful enough to ask if I was driving with the vase and got me a box to stabilize the arrangement while I drove home. Web site ordering was fairly easy although I had to enter my information several times because I wanted to pickup the arrangement and it kept defaulting to delivery and when ever I changed to pickup all my data was lost and needed to be reentered. I didn't get to see the basket, but my dad loved it. I ordered the medium size, and it had 12 beers, so it's much bigger than it looks. He said they were all different kinds. No one was home when they brought it, but the delivery guy got my mom on the phone, and she told him to leave it on the porch. I'm pleased she didn't have to go back to pick it up.

She was not equipped to take a picture of it to send to me, so I don't really know how it would compare to the arrangement pictured on your website. She did describe the vase, and it seems to be exactly what is pictured. I often order arrangements for my aunt and uncle, but never see them in person, I might in the future request that someone at your shop use their phone camera to snap a picture of the finished arrangement, and then text it to me, Thank you for your prompt service!

So the flowers my wife recieved did not have the blue thistles as pictured, that was basically the reason I picked out that boquet so that was a let down. Also I thought it was ridiculous I was charged a $11 delivery fee when the guy walked them about 15 yards to my wifes place of employment, Hy-Vee charges a $4 delivery fee to drive across town, and their flowers look like the picture on their website. Really wanted to go with a local business, but the $11 delivery fee to walk next door is ridiculous. I will go back to using another florist in the futre.

The bouquet delivered was perhaps a better approximation of the one I ordered than some of I've ordered in the past, but it really didn't look like I expected. There was only one orange rose. The yellow flowers were some kind of lilly. I know florists always state they are allowed to make substitutions, but I don't know why. When I give you plenty of notice with my order, you should be providing the product you advertised.

Flowers were different than pictured instead of the 2 white and 2 pink flowers there were only 2 pink peonies. They looked beautiful when delivered on Saturday for Mother’s Day, however by Monday, less than 2 days later, the 2 peonies and and the large green flower had severely wilted. For the price I expected it to last longer than 1.5 days.

The colors were completly different and it only had 3 carnations with some little stuff. She said the basket was cute, but the flowers were not like the ones described. I'm rather disappointed actually. For $50, my daughter received 3 daffodils and 2 lilies. There were some smaller flowers as fillers and contrast but overall, I expected more. It's very pretty but again, the total amount was almost $65 including the flowers, tax and delivery. And according to my daughter, some of the smaller flowers have already wilted and dried. The service was excellent, the arrangement was pretty but again, my overall feeling is disappointment.
