This was at valentines day and because care and handling at the farm level is pushed past capacity it can affect the roses. We always buy top quality and stand behind our flowers. You know this! You also failed to return our call or email and did not even give us the opportunity to address this. We also called you to remind you to pick up your flowers on our busiest day of the year.

I ordered flowers but found out later they were unavailable so florist offered a substitute.
To me they were not as nice.
I was little worried on how new arrangement would look.
After flowers was delivered I got a call and was told flowers looked nice.
Bottom line I guess I shouldn’t let my first experience with this florist keep me from ordering from them again.
I will give them a second chance next time I need a florist.

The flowers that were delivered to my wonderful lady best friend were absolutely beautiful and stunning in their vibrant arrangement. I also happened to order one of their super soft plushies and that turned out to be perfect in both sides and feel.
My only two complaints are that the prices are indeed rather high, and I also did not get to choose the specific plushie that was sent to my friend.
But those two nitpicks aside, I am 100% happy with my order; and so is my amazing friend

We have reviewed the picture of the flowers sent and agree that the color scheme is darker than the normal arrangement, please know that the flowers sent were our normal fresh quality. COVID has taken a large toll on the flower industry. Not only is sourcing flowers extremely difficult but expenses are up 200 to 300%. We do try our best to keep the same aesthetic, flowers and colors that are pictured on our site but it has been a big challenge. We apologize and will reach out to you to give you a proper resolution.

The flowers are pretty. The delivery was outstanding! As the delivery man arrived, my mom was sitting on the porch. My son and I were working in the front yard. I told him it was my mom’s 96th birthday. He immediately smiled, stood tall, and marched the flowers to my mom as if he was presenting an academy award. He announced to her “on behalf of Playa del Rey Florist…….” and continued with the most love fulfilling and customer service oriented speech. She smiled continuously. It made me feel so good that we still have people with outstanding character in this world.
I did not get his name but I do want to thank him. My mom is 96 years young and she was still smiling this morning about the presentation of flowers.

The flowers unfortunately looked nothing like the picture posted on the website. It was an ok arrangement but in my humble opinion, looked nothing like a $174 arrangement. It looked like a $75-80 arrangement. With tax and tip it was $237 and fell short of expectations. The arrangement shown on the website was elegant, modern and this looks like every other FTD arrangement. If flowers were unavailable then contact the customer and see if they can wait another day until flowers aren’t available. At this price point, that should not have happened. Customers beware!

Unfortunately this review is based on a poorly executed photo of the arrangement. The customer requested different flowers to be used then were designed for this arrangement which she is saying does not match the requested design. We used all of the flowers that are supposed to go in the arrangement except the ones which were requested not to be used by the sender. We used high end flowers Mini Calla Lillie, extra Roses, etc.. We tried to explain that this is a very beautiful arrangement, in person. We also offered to exchange the arrangement, even though this was ordered at the end of the day and we were closed.

My hats off to the team at PDR Florist! We had provided the wrong phone number, which delayed delivery because there was a security gate to be allowed into the complex. We finally got the correct number, and the flowers were delivered, but the team kept trying and were very professional and kind. Sending flowers from across the country is daunting, so when I first received the “Bloompic” to show the actual arrangement that was made for my order and it was BETTER than the original image I chose from, I was ecstatic!! They delivered same day and were super fast! Playa Flowers FAR exceeded even my HOPES, which were bigger than my “expectations.” Oh, AND the arrangement was about 18” tall. I have certainly enjoyed (and love) arrangements that were designed to be short, but this one looked to be a tall one in the picture (but over the years I know that what looks tall in the picture doesn’t always turn out that way). The staff at Playa Del Rey Florist delivered a stunning, fresh display which the 89 year old recipent was overjoyed with as it featured all her special blooms and colors. During COVID-19 Stay at home orders we are doing "No contact delivery." We do call and let the recipient know we are leaving flowers. In this case we were not told the recipient was out of town? The order was placed and we filled the order and left a message regarding the flowers. Had we known, or been told we could have easily picked the flowers back up and we will redeliver fresh flowers when she returns as we would always do.

First, let me start by saying this IS NOT a bad review. I ordered late morning online for a same day delivery. It’s called immediately after by the florist and informed the color of flowers were unavailable and if a different color was ok. No problem, thanks for the heads up. When I received the “bloom snap” I had an issue with the vase. The one online was taller. I called the shop to inquire why the change. I was informed that particular vase has not been available for quite awhile. Problem is, that was the major reason I chose that arrangement. I was given a wider vase that could hold more flowers. Please update online pic to reflect what’s currently available.

This arrangement does not look like the arrangement I thought I ordered from the photo. The vase is smaller and the tulips are smaller. There are less stones in the bottom. Overall the arrangement is lackluster. And, when I saw the arrangement on Friday, May 3, the arrangement was brown and wilted. A pretty sorry sight. How do you handle a really dissatisfied customer?

After discussing options, we told them we were fine with any color, but that we were wanting them to look more modern like the picture and not the traditional solid red or pink. Fast forward to a couple of hours later, we receive another email, with a picture of the arrangement. The roses were beautiful, however, they were all tied together in a classic bouquet style and just leaned to the side in the vase. The arrangement didn't look anywhere close to what was shown online. We called again to ask about the arrangement and the florist said they did that because we wanted a "modern" look. We had clearly discussed the color of roses being modern, but not the arrangement. It was very disappointing that our recipient got literally a bouquet tied together and just sat in a vase, as if we just bought it from a local grocery store stand and ran out of time to put it together. With that being said, the customer service from the florist was good. They were very friendly and did genuinely seem like they wanted to make it right. They just misunderstood completely what we had asked.

First, we are very sorry that you were disappointed in any way! Also, the picture really does not do the arrangement justice. It is a very nice piece. Second there actually was a bit of a miscommunication here. During the conversation about the rose variety substitution, the idea of a modern look was misconstrued to the design not the roses. By the time you responded to the picture we sent, the order had already been delivered. Again we are sorry that you felt this way, but if you saw the flowers, we are not sure you would judge the design as harshly. Thank you for your comments and your understanding.

Very happy with the service and flowers from this florist! I ordered a funeral arrangement from them recently that was beautiful and surprisingly reasonable in cost. My favorite part about the arrangement I ordered was the beautiful branch design inside the vase to camoglauge the stems. I thought it would be a nice accent to my boyfriends desk at work, not too feminine. The arrangement my boyfriend received was a pathetic interpretation of the design above. The flowers were beautiful but the design in the water was extremely unattractive. I was quite embarrassed to have sent him that, and disappointed with the outcome.

One of the worst things about ordering flowers online is when you see a picture and they look nothing like what you ordered or worse, cheap. That was certainly not the experience I had with Playa Del Rey Florist!! I sent my daughter a simple arrangement of Sunflowers to brighten her day and they were even prettier than the sample photo! Bravo to a florist who certainly knows how to get it right! Excellent customer service and a beautiful product. I highly recommend and will use them again.

Many florist will sell you one arrangement online and then something completely different (and visibly less expensive) is actually delivered. This florist takes an actual photo of your arrangement before it is delivered to ensure that you are getting exactly what you wanted and paid for. Their service is A+ and I will continue to use them!

The ordering process was quick and seamless. Unfortunately my daughter did not receive the flowers after delivery to campus. There is usually a delay in letting a student know that a delivery has been made and they close the mailroom @ 5:00... don't think they reopen until Monday morning. I am hopeful the arrangement will still be as fresh and pretty as when it was delivered. Her birthday is today : /

I didn't receive a confirmation for the delivery. I called to check, and someone told me it had been delivered nearly 45 minutes prior. The intended person did not receive it until after the shop was closed - I think it went to the wrong address, and the neighbor brought it over.

I made an error in the original on-line order, so had to call and correct. There was no problelm or confusion, and the gal was VERY nice to talk to. (Sometimes there is such chaos when trying to straighten out an online situation..I was pleasantly surprised!)
