Businesswoman and Master Floral Designer, Petal Harvill of Petals of Boca, has brought a refreshing twist to the world of event decor and planning. With her ingenious presentations of floral designs and décor, Petal is known for bringing the desired energy and ambiance to any event or floral inspiration. Petal’s influence stems from her childhood days with her mom, a design guru with a passion for flowers. “Color palates, placement, and balance were common, everyday concepts that were stressed throughout my childhood.” Petal’s talents, however, go beyond flowers. After undergraduate studies from the University of Florida, Petal entered the IT workforce, serving as a Business Analyst and Project Manager for multinational giant, EDS. It was her role in Project Management where she developed a sense of discipline and finite detail combining her skills in planning and management with her future decor talents. In pursuit of her vision, Petal soon earned an MBA and began her training in floral designs, which involved world travels and international studies in floral, fashion and color trends, gifts and design concepts. To cultivate her visual sense for the latest design trends, special attention is given to the European design culture. Training at L’ecole des Fleurs (The School of Flowers) in Paris, Capitale de la Création, and attendance at shows such as Maison & Objet (Home Décor and Trends Show, Paris) contribute to the latest cutting-edge designs she brings to her clients. The establishment of Petals of Boca has allowed Petal to test her skills at both event décor and planning. “Planning an event is much easier when you have first-hand knowledge of what the décor designer has in mind. Communication barriers are eliminated and so are the surprises! Combining the two services allows for a controlled project, which lends confidence to clients on those nerve-wrecking days prior to the grand event.” Petal’s design mantra is “strive for natural elegance”. She focuses on expression, simplicity and color. “My design approach is to present something new and fascinating visually and at the same time maintain a sense of nature to enjoy the simple pleasures of beauty. I try to incorporate elements of the outdoors when possible. Floral designs should invoke a sense of tranquility and feeling “alive” within observers, mirroring the sensations of being in a fantastic garden.”

Every gift ordered through BloomNation is personally hand-delivered by the local florist.
