Petals by the Beach is family owned and operated Flower shop by Flora & Melissa a mother daughter team. Flora a long time Pacific Beach resident brings her love of flowers alive to the customers in her arrangements. Being from Holland originally, floral presentation means everything. Melissa an experienced florist with over 26 years, working in some of the most exclusive Flower Shop in San Diego designs amazing floral arrangements with her creativity and attention to detail. An honored Art Alive participant for several years, Melissa has been able to display her creativity and talents for the Floral community. Petals by the Beach has created beautiful arrangements for Corporate Events, Music Festivals, Community Events, Charity’s, Weddings and Special Events. Our subscriptions allow you to select a delivery frequency that best suits your needs - either weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.
How often will I be billed?
You will be billed 5 days before the delivery schedule you select (either weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly). This is to ensure your florist will have adequate time to prepare your order.
How do I make changes to my subscription plan?
You can call the florist any time before the scheduled delivery or pickup date to make changes to your subscription plan and orders.
Can I pause my subscription plan?
Yes, you can! contact us at (858) 270-3000, let us know the next best delivery date and we’ll pause your subscription.
How do I cancel my subscription plan?

I was not impressed by the bouquet I ordered. It was for a bday and used red bow which is certainly left over from valentines and then used red roses for with more tropical flowers. Overall not a great design

We use the red polkadot ribbon all year round our customers seem to love it! We even have it in different colors!
We are known for putting palm leaves with our flower arrangements. I’m sorry you were dissatisfied. You can always specify in the special instructions that you did not want certain flowers in it. You can even tell us in the special instructions what colors you would prefer. Sometimes we don’t always read all the card messages so we don’t know what the occasion is for.

This review is specific to one flower arrangement I've ordered because overall, every other other time (three other orders) have been GORGEOUS! I typically buy the designer's choice option because as someone who used to work in a similar industry, I had a lot of fun/creativity when clients trusted my experience. The arrangement this time was just okay, in my opinion. My grammy still loved the flowers a lot!! While the arrangement was beautifully full, the flowers were quite bright aka artificial colors and a bit unnatural looking. It consisted of three large candy red carnations, five small red roses, two large hot pink dahlias, six small stems of blue hyacinths, greeny, and a great abundance of purple baby's breath. I think I just didn't expect carnations to be the main flower from a flower shop arrangement, or so much filler and unnatural looking blooms. I think it might have been because Mother's Day is so busy they likely used a lot of stock and did the best they could because it was still very full. But the look and type of flower used this time is generally what I see at a grocery store. Grammy still loved them so that's what matters. I'm only leaving a review now because they send emails asking to review. Every other time, they have been wonderful and so much more than I expect, so I will still use this shop when I send flowers to my grammy in the future and I've recommended my siblings use this shop as well.

I haven’t had much luck with sending flowers in the past. Either they would be delivered too late, the wrong ones, lost, or sent in a box that had been smashed. Because of my bad luck in the past I knew my wife wouldn’t expect flowers to be delivered for our anniversary so I chanced it. Hoping it wasn’t too late at 8:12pm on a Wednesday night I put in an order to be delivered the next day Thursday. I had a good feeling. I picked something that would reflect our marriage day 16 years ago along the La Jolla coast at sunset. Of course the next day, Thursday being our anniversary, I went to work with hopes of a big surprise for her. Work was so busy I had actually forgot I had sent them out, until she texts me with hearts and crying emojis that she received the flowers around 2pm and she LOVED them!!!! The bouquet was beautiful! However the card that came with it was incorrect...leaving one of the names off. Also the tag for the person receiving it was incorrect...reading Alex and Michael instead of just Alex..

Ordered same day delivery to the PB area for my parents' 57th anniversary and everything went smoothly and they loved the arrangement (I do too!). The only thing that was a little off-putting was the high price tag. As a former born and raised local I had specifically wanted to support this local shop but $13 delivery was pretty dang pricey considering my parents' house is less than a mile away and the arrangement itself is a little steep as well. Again, delivery and arrangement were perfect but just a little pricey compared to others.

Can’t say enough of how pleased I am. Away from home, I made this purchase online before the shop even opened. Every gift ordered through BloomNation is personally hand-delivered by the local florist.
Each local florist sets their own delivery area and fee.
Most florists offer same-day hand delivery, but may have different order received
cut-off times for same-day delivery that are based off of the recipient’s time zone.
Florists that offer same-day delivery display their same-day delivery cut-off time in
their store detail section. Orders received after that time may be delivered the
following day. Please note some florists may not make deliveries on Sunday.
