Maria’s Flowers and Gifts is a small city floral shop with big city style. We offer full florist services and much more. Customer service satisfaction is our top priority. We work closely with our vendors to provide the highest quality for our unique and custom designs and gifts. Our gift selections include seasonal, blooming and green houseplants as well as a full line of beautiful exotic orchid plants. Fine chocolates, wonderful gourmet items, stuffed animals, seasonal gifts and garden items, greeting cards and many other selections. The owner and designer, Maria Veludo, has brought her European design style straight from Europe to the North Shore. From a very young age she learned from her mother the love and beauty for flowers and the craft for design. With over 20 years of experience in the business, Maria not only adds a personal touch to her floral designs but also to the relationships that she builds with her customers that have lasted over 20 years. I was honestly embarrassed when I saw these at the wake they were purchased for. The boutique was much smaller than expected. The picture online makes it look bigger in size. I wish I had seen “send flowers” link that was in the obituary from the funeral home. All of the arrangements from that vendor were a lot larger and fuller. The one I purchased was more like the size of something that you would send to a friend, teacher or maybe a hospital.

I had accidentally ordered them to be delivered a week later than intended and even though the shop near Salem was closed, they went out of their way to have the flowers delivered the next day. I ordered what I thought was going to look like the photo above for a friend who had surgery. It was suppose to look “simply sensational” but looked nothing like the photo. The recipient sent me a photo of the flowers that she received and I was very disappointed at the photo. If I was able, I would post a photo of what she received. I paid over $100.

Maria and her staff did a very great job. At first I wrote a bad review due to not receiving the flowers but it was actually my fault for not receiving them. If I could give this more stars I would! I ordered this tree for my elderly disabled aunt and uncle. They live in a senior facility, so I had asked for the delivery person to call them ahead so as to give them time to get to the lobby since they use a wheelchair and a walker. Not only did the delivery man bring it directly to their apartment, but he helped them set it up and showed them how to turn it on! My aunt and uncle said the tree is absolutely beautiful and festive. So pleased with everything I have purchased from Maria’s and especially thankful for their true kindness. My daughter received her arrangement on her birthday, and was pleased with my selection. She sent me a picture and, while the daisies looked fresh, I was disappointed that they were not all opened up, and it looked a little sparse. We also bought two plant baskets which were absolutely beautiful. My children all took home a plant from the baskets so that they would have a memorial of their grandmother. It honestly just looks like the standard so I don’t really know what the difference was. But I did the biggest package thinking it was going to be bigger or fuller but it just looks standard and it’s beautiful I just don’t know what was deluxe about it

I want to say it looks like the photo, but it actually looked much more appealing in person! They were beautiful and were loved. The one very bad side of it was the basket, I picked it up, and received a ton of splinters. The paint from the basket splinters got stuck under my skin too.

The flowers were beautiful, but I was just slightly disappointed that the pink flowers used were pale as opposed to the bright pink in the picture. I liked the contrast of the bright pink and red. But it was a beautiful arrangement.
