|Unfortunately, my order did not meet expectations beyond that, or at all really.
The recipient sent me pictures of what she received, and honestly, I'm embarrassed for you and me both.
I know that "Substitutions may be necessary," but the flower arrangement she received had a more "down & depressed" or "sad & sorry" temperament than the "fun & flirty" one we ordered.
The chosen balloon was also disappointing. Did I not tell you the baby was a boy? I'm honestly not sure if I did or not, but if I didn't, why didn't you ask? You had a 50/50 shot on your guess, sure, but this feels like a crucial detail that you, as a professional, should have confirmed with the customer instead of gambling with yourself.
When one thinks of a "flower delivery service," Google confirms the images conjured in my head of a white van, maybe with some flowers and the company's name on the side. Well, the vehicle used to deliver these flowers actually startled the recipients. I admit they are new parents, most likely on high alert to any even seemingly perceived threat to their newborn son's safety, so I'm not really concerned about the use of an unmarked vehicle. I do, however, have so many questions about the use of a convertible for flower delivery. Like, where did the driver keep the flowers during the ride? Were they buckled up in the front seat so they could feel the wind in their petals one last time? Or perhaps they were locked in a tiny trunk, fearing they'd never again see the light of day? Either way, is that why they looked so disheveled upon delivery? And what about the balloon?! Judging from the pictures, it was likely stuffed in the trunk to safely survive the parkway journey from the concrete jungle of Bloomfield to the great wilderness of the South Hills, but I don't want to jump to conclusions or ass-u-me here.
Anyway, my expectations for the gift card weren't much - joyful pastels or happy, bright colors with smiles, flowers, hearts, a cute baby, maybe a stork... what I thought were normal expectations for a "congratulations on your new baby!" card. Or a simple "Congratulations!" with colors that would elicit feelings of joy and wishes for good fortune. Well, the recipient used the words "highly unusual" to describe the card. It was sad with dark black and brown colors, a rabbit with judgy eyes, and what appeared to be an Islamic symbol on it. I'm a spiritual moon lover myself and am all for freedom of religion, but you really should have asked before choosing such a card for an unknown recipient and on behalf of one of your customers. Odds are that neither practice that religion. To be honest, I don't even know or care about the recipient's religious beliefs...
What I do care about is that the feelings of joy, love, blessings, and support that this gift was meant to convey were not achieved. Instead, both the recipient and I (but hopefully not the baby) were left confused and questioning.
When I spoke to the nice lady on Monday, and we couldn't find the recipient in the hospital near your shop, I wish you would have just told me 'NO' when I asked if you could make the delivery. I'm sure you guys excel in your natural environment of making deliveries to the multitude of hospitals in your area. But even now, your website says it doesn't deliver to the recipient's address! I wouldn't have been mad had you said no; in fact, I wish you would have turned me down, as it would have saved us all a lot of grief here.
Honestly, I'm really disappointed with this order and would like to request a refund. I emailed you last week but haven't received a response.
