Kati Mac Floral Designs
As parents of daughters with special needs, giving back to our community has always been important to us. However, the “how and why” of giving back expanded when we were presented with an unbelievable opportunity. For years we dreamed about running a retail business in the borough of West Chester where individuals with special needs like our daughters could work. We hoped to provide an opportunity for meaningful, independent, purposeful work to those with special needs. However, we never expected so many people—especially brides—to embrace our vision of a cause-based business supporting people with special needs. All parents envision their kid's future, but for parents of kids with special needs, thinking about the future can bring more questions than answers. An answer to one of those questions for us became evident when we had the opportunity to purchase Kati Mac, a well-established flower shop with a fantastic tenured staff. A turnkey shop with a good reputation and years of experience working with the community, brides, wedding planners, and venues from Center City to the Jersey Shore seemed too good to be true. Now a few years into our venture, the mission is thriving. More than half of our team are individuals with special needs, and the shop's legacy staff is so very proud to be a part of the unique and inclusive environment. Kati Mac employees say they love working with flowers because flowers make them happy. Providing purpose to individuals with special needs and bringing joy through flowers to their customers has been a beautiful marriage. We have spent the last few years building relationships with local flower farmers to provide our customers and clients with the freshest seasonal products possible. Thank you for delivering those beautiful flowers to Interventional Radiology at Chester County Hospital. The flowers were delivered between 10-11am and they were the only flower delivery that morning. After Lisa's coworkers photographed and text their husbands a pic of the flowers her coworkers thanked their husbands for the delivery causing great confusion and panic. When her coworkers got home that evening they all had flowers. It would be helpful if Kati-Mac sent out a reminder email about 2 weeks before Valentines day so I could reorder for next year. Honestly, I was disappointed with this bouquet. Katie Mac usually does such a nice job, but this bouquet left much to be desired. I requested hydrangeas, roses, stock, and lillies when I placed the order. The arrangement was that was sent does not appear to have any hydrangeas, stock, or regular roses, but it’s admittedly hard to tell in the photo. I can’t see what the pink flowers are… (maybe miniature roses or carnations?), neither of which I asked for. The Lillies (?) astromeria (?) that are in the bouquet are not open. It’s not the thank you bouquet I was envisioning. Maybe the budget was the issue, but had I been told at the outset that the flowers I wanted would necessitate a more expensive bouquet, I would have gladly upped the budget rather than be disappointed. Sorry, Katie Mac, you missed the mark on this one.

Initially I was pleased with the arrangement. However less than 24 hours later a key flower in the arrangement completely disintegrated/ decomposed. Another key flower (the largest in the arrangement) had brown spots less than 24 hours later as well. This is very disappointing as I specifically requested quality “fresh” stems (no brown edges) that would retain their shape, color & beauty for days. I realize shops often use completely fully open flowers as they occupy more space in arrangements, but those are past peak and die quickly. I shared that when placing my order in hopes of avoiding such a situation, but it happened, is disappointing and are eyesores in the purchased arrangement.

I recently purchased a nose gay for my son’s Junior prom. When I ordered it, I specifically told them I wanted it to match the dress which was blue. When I picked it up, I was surprised to find there were white and pink flowers in it and only three tiny, barely visible sprigs of blue. I really thought they gave me the wrong one because it was absolutely was NOT a blue nosegay. I ended up going to Wegmans to purchase blue hydrangeas and redid the nosegay myself so it would at least have SOME blue in it to match my son’s date’s dress, I would expect a lot more for $63 dollars, which I had unfortunately already prepaid. I had ordered another one for next weekend to match a green dress and am going to cancel the order. Also, the greenery in it was very overdone and looked so untidy. Too many leaves sticking out way too far. I had to trim that down too. All the nosegays they had on the table when I picked mine up looked all the same. None of them looked like they were supposed to be any certain color. They were all white and pink with lots of green leaves poking out. I feel sorry for all the girls who expected them to match their dresses.

Every gift ordered through BloomNation is personally hand-delivered by the local florist.
Each local florist sets their own delivery area and fee.
Most florists offer same-day hand delivery, but may have different order received
cut-off times for same-day delivery that are based off of the recipient’s time zone.
Florists that offer same-day delivery display their same-day delivery cut-off time in
their store detail section. Orders received after that time may be delivered the
following day. Please note some florists may not make deliveries on Sunday.
