Welcome to Gathered Stems, a floral couturier based in McLean, Virginia. Our signature botanical designs are inspired by nature, using fresh and dried flowers and greenery.
Gathered Stems is a privately owned, small flower business that provides delivery service throughout Northern Virginia. We take great pride in bringing our clients’ visions to life to the surprise and delight of those who receive them.

Substitution Policy
In some instances, the florists’ photo may represent an overall theme or look and include a one-of-a-kind vase which cannot be exactly replicated. Although the actual bouquet may not precisely match the photo, its temperament will. Occasionally, substitutions of flowers or containers happen due to weather, seasonality and market conditions which may affect availability. If this is the case with the gift you've selected, the local florist will ensure that the style, theme and color scheme of your arrangement is preserved and will only substitute items of equal or higher value.
Delivery Policy
Every gift ordered through BloomNation is personally hand-delivered by the local florist. Each local florist sets their own delivery area and fee.
Most florists offer same-day hand delivery, but may have different order received cut-off times for same-day delivery that are based off of the recipient’s time zone. Florists that offer same day delivery display their same-day delivery cut-off time in their store detail section. Orders received after that time may be delivered the following day. Please note some florists may not make deliveries on Sunday.
To request a specific delivery time, please type it into the Special Instructions field during checkout. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences. Before major holidays, we recommend that you place your orders at least five days in advance.

I had the most wonderful and affirming experience dealing with Jessica at Gathered Stems who helped me organize the delivery of a sympathy orchid after the death of a loved one. She was so friendly and kind and even went so far as to text me photos of the options so that I could make up my mind. Even though I knew she had many other orders to tend to, she took the time to make me feel like a valued customer. Highly recommend!
