Coady Florist
Coady Florist is a family owned and operated local flower shop in Cambridge, MA for over 90+ years. Offering same-day flower delivery in Cambridge, Boston, and surrounding towns. We at Coady's take pride in our ability to create any type of custom flowers, designed to fulfill all our client's personal visions and needs. We do it all! Aside from everyday arrangements and deliveries, for the the past 30+ years Coady's has expanded into the business of flowers for conventions and trade shows, providing floral and plant needs for exhibitions across the country.
ABOUT THE OWNER
Dan Marquardt
Coady Florist has been in operation in Cambridge since 1917. The current owner, Dan Marquardt's family has owned it for the past 50 years. Dan was born and raised within the business and it was passed down to him from his father, Charles Marquardt, who bought the business in 1970. Since then, the feeling of family and loyalty has been the essence of Coady Florist for all it's employees and clients that have passed through. It's more than just a job for us, it's our family. Additional facts/credentials: Over 30 years ago, Dan and his father expanded out into the convention / trade show industry, closely working on site with exhibitors, providing them with customized arrangements and plants. In addition to working on countless shows across Boston, Dan has also been flown out to LA, San Diego, and Denver to design for the annual Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) convention.

Our subscriptions allow you to select a delivery frequency that best suits your needs - either weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.
How often will I be billed?
You will be billed 5 days before the delivery schedule you select (either weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly). This is to ensure your florist will have adequate time to prepare your order.
How do I make changes to my subscription plan?
You can call the florist any time before the scheduled delivery or pickup date to make changes to your subscription plan and orders.
Can I pause my subscription plan?
Yes, you can! contact us at (617) 547-9096, let us know the next best delivery date and we’ll pause your subscription.
How do I cancel my subscription plan?
We’d be happy to take care of that for you! Please contact us at (617) 547-9096 and we’ll cancel your subscription right away.

I took a chance and ordered flowers online from a florist I had never worked. Their location was very close to an open house event that I wanted to send an arrangement for one of my friends. I gave them a price range and just basic ideas of what I would like (spring, colors, maybe a hydrangea) and they literally put together what I had in mind! They even sent me a picture of the arrangement so I knew what was being sent. I made a last-minute call and a beautiful bouquet was delivered very quickly (within a few hours). The flowers are big, beautiful, and very fresh. They are so much better than the wilted and tired-looking flowers jammed together that arrive in a box from somewhere far away. The bouquet is absolutely gorgeous, the delivery and service perfect and I appreciated receiving the photo. I must say that I don't think any of the primary flowers are the flowers in the advertised photo. I understand that this is probably seasonal, but unfortunately my favorite flowers, which were in the Ocean Blue photo, were replaced by my least favorite flower (the rose). Nonetheless, my daughter loved it and, again, the arrangement is beautiful.

I ordered a dozen roses for my wife for delivery on Valentine's Day. After it was delivered, my wife noticed that 2 of the roses had broken stems. She put the 2 flowers in a bud vase and we didn't think anymore about it. An hour later, the delivery person came back with 2 fresh long stem roses. Coady’s first bouquet was not what I was expecting. It did not look nearly as good as the last one I ordered, which was beautiful. But when I gave them a call, they were so unbelievably accommodating and changed white orchids to purple ones and took out some other things. They sent an updated bloom snap as well. While it is a lovely arrangement, I will admit I am a bit disappointed. I realize your website said you occasionally substitute flowers, I specifically chose the "Ocean Blue" because it did NOT have roses. (My fault that I did not specify in the instructions I guess.) It looked tall and elegant and modern, whereas this looks more boilerplate, like an FTD arrangement. That said, I am pleased you kept the color scheme even if the design aesthetic wasn't quite as I had hoped, and the recipient thought it was nice. Lesson learned for future orders.

When a product does not meet my expectation, I would hope that the shop works quickly to address what I want redone. Instead, the florist immediately wanted to cancel the order on me and issue a refund, rather than accommodate my needs as a customer. Ultimately, 1) wanted some birthday flowers delivered to my mom rather than have nothing delivered (today was already a day after her actual 60th birthday), 2) I was running late to work and had a very very busy day ahead with limited email and phone access, thus without sufficient time to select another arrangement. Therefore I chose to let it go and requested that we proceed with the delivery as is... Despite my repeated explanation of the situation, the florist adamantly refused to make the delivery. It was evident that he was upset that his arrangement was not to my liking, as he raised his voice at me. I found myself equally raising my voice at him and nearly pleading with him to make the delivery. I have never been so frustrated as a customer in my life, arguing with someone I am doing business with, to the point that I angrily started crying on the phone.
I understand that florists harbor immense pride in their work, but the customers’ needs come first and foremost. I considered leaving a review on Yelp and Google, decided that it is not worth my time and energy. But as this review email was automatically sent to my inbox, I feel that I need to share my experience with the Coady Florist team so that they will never treat another client in this manner.

The photo of the arrangement I selected looks a lot different than the actual one that was delivered to the wake. It looks a lot smaller and the flowers were not as lush as and fresh as was expected . I was sadly disappointed - I purchased from this place for another service a few months ago, and the arrangement was much nicer and the price matched the quality of the arrangement .

Despite the current situation with coronavirus, they were very quick to come back to me when I made an enquiry and fast at delivering my order - I ordered on Saturday and they were able to deliver for me on the Monday. Coady Florist goes above and beyond. My company sent an arrangement to an employee who had just had a baby and needed it to get to the hospital the same day.
Because we were ordering the arrangement later in the day, there was no longer a same-day option on the website.

My brother is in the hospital and I ordered this plant and paid for the deluxe upgrade. It is the most ugliest plant and the flowers are dead after two days and it is not full at all. I will never recommend or use this florist again.
