About the Shop
In the spring of 1981, Bloomers sprouted as a modest flower cart on Ivanhoe Avenue, and eventually grew into a thriving local favorite purveyor of blooms, plants, and gifts near the corner of Pearl and Eads. We are a piece of La Jolla history, and we look forward to planting smiles for many more decades. Have you botany flowers lately? Come visit the best and weed out the rest!
Under the current direction of Katie Chvistek, Bloomers now enters its 44th year of continued success in cultivating robust relationships with our neighbors. Our cooler is stocked with the finest fresh floral product available to suit any variety of aesthetic styles. While propagating the highest standards of quality and design in our arrangements, we also offer beautiful and unique home and garden décor among an array of thoughtful gift items. And, as always, our talented designers are happy to sow the seeds of a custom bouquet with your recipient and sentiment in mind ~ we always deliver!
Substitution Policy
In some instances, the florists’ photo may represent an overall theme or look and include a one-of-a-kind vase which cannot be exactly replicated. Although the actual bouquet may not precisely match the photo, its temperament will. Occasionally, substitutions of flowers or containers happen due to weather, seasonality and market conditions which may affect availability. If this is the case with the gift you've selected, the local florist will ensure that the style, theme and color scheme of your arrangement is preserved and will only substitute items of equal or higher value.
Delivery Policy
Every gift ordered through BloomNation is personally hand-delivered by the local florist. Each local florist sets their own delivery area and fee.
Most florists offer same-day hand delivery, but may have different order received cut-off times for same-day delivery that are based off of the recipient’s time zone. Florists that offer same day delivery display their same-day delivery cut-off time in their store detail section. Orders received after that time may be delivered the following day. Please note some florists may not make deliveries on Sunday.
To request a specific delivery time, please type it into the Special Instructions field during checkout. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences. Before major holidays, we recommend that you place your orders at least five days in advance.
