About the Shop
A&K Floral Design is black family owned/operated in the Eagle Rock section of West Orange, NJ. It was established in 1906, formerly known as Freytag’s Flowers, and has changed ownership four times, continuously serving the floral needs of West Orange and surrounding Essex County communities.
We are committed to offering only the finest floral arrangements backed by service that is friendly, professional and as time sensitive as possible. Our large assortment of fresh flowers is carefully maintained in our expansive four-door refrigerator. We take pride in our warm and inviting space where you can surround yourself with flowers as you wait in comfort for your arrangement to be created. We are and have always been a neighborhood flower shop where “Happiness Blooms.” Visit us at 41 Harrison Avenue to see for yourself. Substitution Policy
In some instances, the florists’ photo may represent an overall theme or look and include a one-of-a-kind vase which cannot be exactly replicated. Although the actual bouquet may not precisely match the photo, its temperament will. Occasionally, substitutions of flowers or containers happen due to weather, seasonality and market conditions which may affect availability. If this is the case with the gift you've selected, the local florist will ensure that the style, theme and color scheme of your arrangement is preserved and will only substitute items of equal or higher value.
Delivery Policy
Every gift ordered through BloomNation is personally hand-delivered by the local florist. Each local florist sets their own delivery area and fee.
Most florists offer same-day hand delivery, but may have different order received cut-off times for same-day delivery that are based off of the recipient’s time zone. Florists that offer same day delivery display their same-day delivery cut-off time in their store detail section. Orders received after that time may be delivered the following day. Please note some florists may not make deliveries on Sunday.
To request a specific delivery time, please type it into the Special Instructions field during checkout. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences. Before major holidays, we recommend that you place your orders at least five days in advance.

A & K Floral Design went above and beyond the call to facilitate my order. I had an unusual request in addition to the flowers. After I had been told no by other florists, she said yes and actually went to another store and bought what I wanted to be included in the flowers (for which I, of course, reimbursed her). Her degree of service was unparalleled, very accommodating, professional, and friendly. She totally made my experience a real pleasure and made my special birthday floral gift a real winner! Efficient service and very pretty flowers. I sent these as a gift to be delivered the same day. I received an email copy of the charge and was advised when the delivery was completed. I saw the flowers on FaceTime, and they were exactly like the picture on the website. I would certainly use A&K Floral Design again.
